Do you have any idea what goes into the body? Well, before you even start to write, you should have a writing goal in mind. Simply ask yourself if you want to do a funny, dramatic, poetic, song-like, sentimental, or even a storytelling speech?

 

What I have seen from helping wedding speakers with their speeches is that most grandparents prefer a blend of funny and sentimental.

So, if that’s what you want, then you have to...

• Write down funny memories or anecdotes about your granddaughter or grandson you feel you can include in your message

 

If you want to execute something classic using the storytelling approach, then you should provide answers to questions like...

• How did you feel when your grandchild was born?
• What was or were your dreams for her?
