Two years after they got married, they had no child and they went from one hospital to the other seeking for the fruit of the womb.
Through it all, their faith never wavered and their love for each other grew so strong.
After five long years together, they still had no child so they made up their minds to adopt a little girl called Josephine because they believed that we are all children of the Almighty.
One day, God heard their cries and Mary got pregnant with a little boy, just as they expected.
Eight weeks after he was born, they had him baptized and dedicated him to God and when they got back home for a small party, this was Mary’s speech

Although this christening speech was very well received, things took a different turn when Jeremy was growing up.
In high school, he was influenced by gangs and began to take hard drugs so much so that he got disfigured!
This hurt his teachers and parents so much.
His mom was always drowned in tears when she remembered the words she used at the dedication ceremony but she was still hopeful that God will touch his life.
Come to think of it. One day, Jeremy got so sick and was admitted at the hospital for close to a year.
No drugs could cure him. His condition got so worse that doctors and everyone gave up hopes on him.
But not his mom. She kept praying for his beloved son.
He got a bit better but decided to hang himself because he was just fed up with life!
A night before he decided to take his life, he flipped through the TV channels and heard the story of a man who had gone through several battles in life and that made Jeremy sit up.
The next day he found a tattered bible and as he thumbed through it, he stumbled on this verse: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future…Jeremiah 29:11
In time, he stopped chasing girls and doing drugs. Over time, his joy was renewed and his health began to get better.
True to his mom words: ‘’Your very presence on the earth is a constant reminder of God’s goodness and grace’’, he began to feel the goodness of God anew and when he was his mid-thirties, he started his own ministry to reach out to drug addicts in this country and around the world.
This story is a reminder of the power of a praying mother and the grace of God that’s still available to all men.
That said, I think a very good speech like the one we have seen (above) is the best gift you can ever give your own child or godchild.
Why? Well, any other gift you give can’t make as much impact as the words you use because sooner or later, they will fade or get lost.
But your words will stay forever.

What are your dream/dreams for him or her?

Now, this is what I want you to do. Go for a pen and a sheet and sit with your spouse and answer all those questions.
After you have done that, ask yourself which answers you want to use for your baby dedication message. Just string your answers together to craft something. Don't worry about its flow as you can always go back to edit it.

How was the feeling like on the day the baby was dedicated to the Lord?
Do you remember what you said?
What was your prayer or your best wishes?
How were things like when the baby was growing up and how did you help ''shepherd'' him or her?
Please if you write answers to these questions, you can simply put together your responses together and write something short and sweet based on that.
Just pour out what’s on your heart.
