Do you know this about Yourself?

There’s a special blessing for fathers who are blessed to have daughters. If you raise her well and you are always there for her, then the love between the two of you will last forever.

I am sure the love between you and your daughter runs deep and on the most special day of her life, you absolutely have to tell your friends and family how proud you are of her and what she means to you.

Father of the bride speech templates for my daughter

The surest way of expressing the deepest sentiments of your heart is by giving a heartfelt father of the bride wedding speech or toast. I know it’s your dream to make a great one at your darling daughter’s wedding. But, you do really have what it takes to make everyone say great things about your speech and possibly make them stand on their feet to give you a hand?

In a bid to write the best ever father of the bride wedding toast, most dads scrounge for bits and pieces of information about their daughter’s life to compose what they think is a great wedding tribute for their daughter.

This practice, on one hand, is not always as easy as most dads have imagined it to be and often end up composing a wedding speech that doesn’t actually reflect who their daughter is and their relationship with her.

Your ability to distill memorable memories from your daughter's life into a cohesive narrative would not only make her proud but also connect you to the invited guests.

Please Do This Instead If You Ever Get Stuck

To this end, I'm putting forward various suggestions, ideas, and examples to help you write a father of the bride wedding speech toast that is sincere, funny, relevant, and worthy of being given on your daughter's special day!

If you are short on time, have never delivered a speech before, or aren't sure where to begin, father of the bride speech samples or templates can help you feel better and calm your nerves since they include a plethora of useful ideas and material that can help you make your speech a smashing success!

I do, however, advise fathers not to place too much reliance on them. They are just examples to give you an idea of the kind of structure and tone you may choose to use in your own presentation.

Examples may be either textual or visual, and each has a distinct yet complementary function.

Prior to drafting your speech, you should first watch a few videos to familiarize yourself with how previous fathers of the bride have delivered their remarks.

After taking a look around and doing a little brainstorming, I found these beautiful fathers of the bride toast examples from YouTube videos to share with you.

Now is the time for you to take their pen and notebook, press the play button, and jot down any and all of the potential thoughts that come to mind while the video plays. These would serve as a model or framework for the father of the bride's speech.

Now, here is a

Father Of The Bride Speech Sample/ Example

Good evening, and greetings to everyone who took out time for the wedding of my lovely daughter and son-in-law.

On behalf of Jen and me, I'd want to begin by expressing our gratitude for your presence today.

We have been looking forward to this moment for months, and on behalf of my family, I would like to express our gratitude to everyone who has traveled from near and far to participate in our pleasure and happiness.

Since the day Sarah was born, I've been looking forward to this moment. My first kid was born to me. My one and only daughter. Everything about today is the stuff of fathers' aspirations, desires, and fantasies.

It may surprise some of you to learn that our first child struggled with weight for almost two years before becoming healthy and strong again. It was many years before she stopped wiggling her legs and she did that in the womb as well. We now consider that to be her very first exercise regimen.

The vast majority of dads think that their children are the brightest youngsters alive. Sarah was a bright young girl who quickly mastered the spelling and definition of every new word she encountered in the many books that were read to her.

Speech for my daughter on her wedding day

I made up tales to keep her entertained, and I often read fascinating articles from the Kids Magazine to engage her in a lively conversation about the stories. On Saturdays, when she was approximately seven years old, she began accompanying me to work. She would sit in front of the computer for a bit and we would simply spend time together.

I once overheard her talking with my boss which I thought was interesting.  Later, I cautiously inquired as to what they had discussed, and she responded that he had attempted to deceive her with a ruse. When it didn't work, he challenged her to spell his last name correctly which she did.

Growing up, she preferred grown-up discussions, which evolved into a caustic wit and a lack of tolerance for people who misjudged her. In this case, her new husband has earned her trust.

She transferred to high school during her junior year, and she used her dancing experience to try out for the cheerleading team that year.

Even if one door shuts in front of her, she will happily go through the next one. That’s who Sarah is.

We had a lot of fun together until the aliens stole her brain away from her. Her interests veered off in directions that mine had never ventured until she was 13 years old.

For a while, the tale about the aliens was the only way she could explain her conduct to her friends. We believed our children were normal, but Sarah let us see the aliens for what they really were. Later on, they were able to restore her mental faculties. It's been a long, long journey.

After high school, Sarah went off to college and eventually moved out of the house. My wife, on the other hand, saw it as a setback rather than a triumph.

It was a defining moment in her life. We had faith in her and she enrolled at Tanish University, where she excelled.

She completed her Master’s in Public Policy in two years after putting in the effort. She started her professional life as a policy advisor to our State Governor.

With each step up the ladder, she gained important experience that enabled her to achieve even greater success in her endeavors. If you're interested in learning more about what she's up to now, contact her. She will be more than happy to tell you about it. It's time to seize the moment once again!

Of course, she also seized Dan. He provides consolation during stormy days and illuminates the situation with his additional expertise.

And I'm looking forward to the day when your mom  and I will be able to adopt the titles of Grandma and Grandpa.

I'm overjoyed that the two of you have found one other, and we wish you both the best of luck in the future. Your presence in our family is much appreciated, Dan. And, Leia, you have once again made your mother and me very proud of you.

We are delighted to witness the two of you become one in your love for one another. They say that a good marriage starts when we marry the person we love, and it blooms when we continue to love the person we married throughout the seasons of life.

May you have genuine pleasure in your shared living space. Dan and Sarah, you are a good match for one another. You are both intelligent and capable of making sound choices, and you have a number of characteristics in common. It gives me great pleasure to be here with you today.

The voyage of marriage, on the other hand, is similar to that of a roller-caster. You will experience tremendous highs and equally severe lows, but the  trip will be well worth it!

So, always be each other's closest friends in good and bad times, honor each other, be nice, be lovely, and embrace and kiss each other a lot since it's beneficial for your health and happiness. As long as you stay at it, you will never forget this wonderful evening!

Thank you and God bless you all the days of your life. Cheers!

Ladies and Gentlemen, this has been your anchorman on the Wedding Speech TV, Eric, father of the bride and I am out of hereeeeeeeeeeee! Byeeeeeeeeeeee!

Now, let’s break it all down so we can figure out what really went into writing this sweet father of the bride speech.

First, let’s re-look at excerpts of the introductory remarks which form the backbone of your speech.

‘’Good evening and greetings to everyone who took out time for the wedding of my lovely daughter and son-in-law.

If you don't already know who I am, let me introduce myself: my name is Mark, and I am the proud father of the beautiful bride…’’

Could you please let me know what caught your eye when you read that?  If you go back to read it once more, you will realize that it is basically a short self-introduction which is fairly easy to write.

I am sure you can do that. Well, if you scroll further down the page, you will still see this other part of the opening address:

‘’Since the day Sarah was born, I've been looking forward to this moment. My first kid was born to me. My one and only daughter. Everything about today is the stuff of fathers' aspirations, desires, and fantasies…’’

What’s your take on that? Ok, let me walk you through that so you can understand it better.

The story about Sarah’s birth sets the pace for the rest of the speech. Reflecting on how and when your daughter was born is one of the best ways of capturing the attention of the audience. But it goes beyond that storytelling approach.

There are actually other proven ways of starting with a bang and I am going to share a few with you.

First, you can dive deep and tell the wedding guests how you felt when you brought your daughter home from the hospital or held her in your arms for the very first time.

Here’s an example that conveys that exact feeling.

From the first moment you

were placed in my arms, and

you looked up at me with those little bright eyes of yours and you got me hooked.

I knew right then that I was going to protect you from the world since there was something really special about you.

Second, if you want to sound witty, you can jazz up your wedding speech for your daughter with some witty lines or quotes or even jokes. Below are a few you can use to come up with something creative.

  • "There are two things I know for sure: She was sent here from heaven and she's daddy's little girl."- Bob Carlisle
  • A father is a son's first hero and a daughter's first love."- Unknown
  • "Fathering is not something perfect men do, but something that perfects the man."- Frank Pittman
  • The happiest moments in every married man’s life is when his daughter tells him she’s engaged to be married’’- Jean Dan

Ok, let’s see if we can write something cute with the last quote.

My dad told me that there are two memorable moments in every man’s life. When he gets married to a very good woman and when he becomes a dad for the very first time.

While that’s true, I can say that when my daughter Mildred was born, I became a very proud dad for the first time and my joy knew no bounds 28 years later when she joyfully announced her engagement from overseas…….

That’s not all there is to opening your speech. It always seems that using just words is the natural thing to do. But, did you know that you can break out into a song to entertain your family and friends?

This father in the video below tried that and his message was very well-received that it became one of the best ever father of the bride speeches.

You better give it a try if you can and you will certainly end up making your darling daughter so proud!

Now, let’s turn our attention to this:

How to Write and Organize the Structure, Outline and Content of Your Father of the Bride Wedding Speech

First, let’s go back and re-read parts of the body so you can get an idea of what to do before you even write the body of your speech.

Please look at it carefully particularly the underlined words and phrases.

Here you go:

……I made up tales to keep her entertained, and I often read fascinating articles from the Kids Magazine to engage her in a lively conversation about the stories. On Saturdays, when she was approximately seven years old, she began accompanying me to work. She would sit in front of the computer for a bit and we would simply spend time together.

How to write a wedding speech for my daughter at reception

I once overheard her talking with my boss which I thought was interesting.  Later, I cautiously inquired as to what they had discussed, and she responded that he had attempted to deceive her with a ruse. When it didn't work, he challenged her to spell his last name correctly which she did.

Growing up, she preferred grown-up discussions, which evolved into a caustic wit and a lack of tolerance for people who misjudged her. In this case, her new husband has earned her trust…

For a while, the tale about the aliens was the only way she could explain her conduct to her friends. We believed our children were normal, but Sarah let us see the aliens for what they really were. Later on, they were able to restore her mental faculties. It's been a long, long journey…

She completed her Master’s in Public Policy in two years after putting in the effort. She started her professional life as a policy advisor to our State Governor. With each step up the ladder……….

Comments: Did you read that eagerly? Ok, what are some ideas you took home from that read?

If you go scroll up and give it a quick glance, you can infer that the whole thing is about stories about Sarah’s life.

In this case, it starts from when she was a little girl through her teenage years to when she graduated college and became a policy advisor.

If you always struggle to come up with ideas on the fly, then I recommend that you break the body of your presentation into the following parts.

  • Your daughter’s childhood---talk about it and back it up with a very memorable story. Don’t forget to share some funny and entertaining stories about your daughter’s childhood!

You can continue by sharing some of the memorable moments of her life, starting from her struggles and how she overcame them.

Then, share some turning points of her life and how she amazed you throughout this fantastic journey.

Share the growth and learning process of your daughter and how you felt all along.

  • Her teenage years/ Growing up years---fill in the blanks with stories about her years when she was entering puberty.
  • Her adult years--- Mention her accomplishments (scholarly and athleticism) if you will and memorable events you both took part in. It could be about a trip, sports event or a family get-together or school function like a graduation party.

You may talk about some stories that showed her being a little mischievous. But make sure it’s rendered in an amusing way so that you don’t embarrass her.

Then write about how you met the groom and your impressions of him. You may also work around any of these:

  • Do you share the same hobbies or similar interests?
  • Did he ask you permission to marry your daughter?
  • How did he propose? And were you around when he did that?

Action Tip: Please provide answers to the above questions and use your answers to come up with a quick first draft or outline. Not too difficult, right? Ok, just give it a try and let’s see what happens.

Now, let’s wrap this up with this:

How to End Your Speech on a Memorable Note

Most fathers wrongly assume that writing the concluding remarks is a walk in the park. While that is true, most speech givers don’t wrap up too as expected and that doesn’t make the wedding night one to remember.

It’s not uncommon to hear something along these lines:

‘’ Let’s raise our glasses and toast the happy couple. Cheers!’’

There’s nothing wrong with that approach though. But you can make it a lot more fun by being a little more creative with your closing remarks or best wishes.

Well, here are some ideas that can help you end on a strong note.

First, if you are a Christian couple or father, you can end with a prayer or blessing for the couple. Here’s an example taken from Psalm 128 and adapted for this occasion.

May you be blessed in this union

May the Lord bless you and cause you to eat the fruit of your labor

May you be like a fruitful vine within your house and your children grow like olive shoots around your table in Jesus name!

Second, if you have nothing else to say, you only have to end with a couple of best wishes. That’s easy to write, right?

Birthday Speech or Toast for Nephew or Niece

I am sure you came to this page because you are looking for help with one or more of the following ideas:

  • How to write a sweet 1st, 16th, 18th, 21st  birthday speech toast for your nephew or niece

  • Where and how to find good birthday speech examples you can model your toast for nephew or niece after

….Plus a whole more

They say a good uncle or aunt is like a second parent and that’s very true as far as this story is concerned.

Vlaimir was born to immigrant parents who travelled to the US after war broke out in their native country of Kosovo.

He arrived in the US together with them and he lost both parents on the same to a devastating wind storm when the roof on their building imploded and killed the couple.

Birthday seech for niece template

He was then on summer vacation so his life was spared and his kind uncle stepped up to the plate to care for the sad teenager. The two developed a close bond that most people thought Jared was his father.

Before long, he turned 18 years old on the same day he lost his mom and dad and his uncle felt he needed to do something that will not only honor the memory of his parents but celebrate the life of his life in a very special way.

After weighing a lot of options, he decided that the best way to do that was to tell a little story about his nephew’s life in a birthday speech.  But he had a problem.  He wasn’t so good with words.

But after picking bits and pieces of information from here and there, he came up with the following short birthday message for his beloved nephew.

Please note: This example can also be used even if you are aunt of the birthday celebrant.

By the way, I am going to break this example down bit by bit so you can figure out how to write your own birthday toast for your nephew or niece even if you think you are not cut out for speaking in public.

Now, here you go:

Birthday Speech Toast Example for Nephew or Niece

Good evening everyone and thanks for coming. Although Vlaimir is my nephew, I have always considered him a son because he brings so much joy to my life in a way nothing else does and I feel so grateful and blessed to be his uncle.

Vlaimir came into our lives 21 years ago. He was the first grandchild and we were beyond excited to meet him. I was particularly proud as punch to be an uncle for the very first time.

Come to think of it. Even though it was one of the best days of life, I felt rather nervous like a deer caught in the headlights (I actually looked like one too) when my sister Evelyn handed the little baby over to me and I held him so tight in my arms for fear of dropping him like a stone.

From an early age, Vlaimir was a curious, happy, adventurous and active little boy who loved to soccer. I still remember with pride how he ran like a beast on the field when we went to watch him play in the local soccer derby.

He played very well and it was a very special moment for me to see him running around in the same colors as his other uncle Jim and I did for our very last club  before retiring from the game.

The talented soccer player has since won several awards both at club and school, inspired his siblings and cousins to improve upon their games, as well making representative teams. Let me say that he is the next soccer in the making!

Vlaimir has always been very quiet and unassuming. When I say that, I do not mean in the sense that he’s a pushover or can be walked on, because he’s also

very smart. But he was just always good natured, and would think of others before himself.

Birthday speech for my niece

He knows how to massage pretty well. He genuinely has a magic touch! Let this arthritic old uncle tell you, when Vlaimir puts on his “family chiropractor” hat and starts with the massaging, you feel 20 years old again!

Vlaimir, I am glad to see you celebrate one more year of life; it is good to see you so big and so happy. You are the pride of your parents and mine too. I am sure they are so proud of you and would have been the proudest parents if they were around today.

As we celebrate your special birthday, I just want to reassure you that I will always be there for you.  As you grow, please live your dreams without trampling on anyone. Live in the present without looking back and without worrying about the future because today is the only day that counts.

Never ignore what your heart tells you and never go against your principles to follow others.

I consider you as my son and so I do not want you to forget that you can always count on me. If there is anything I can help, any advice I can give, I will give it to you and help with all the pleasure of the world. I love you and I know you will have a great future.

Happy Birthday!

Ok, now let us see how that short example was written. Think back to your high school years and you will remember your English teacher saying that every essay has three main parts: the introduction, body, and conclusion.

From the above template, the introduction comprise of these core constituents:

  1. The name of the speaker
  2. His or her relationship with the nephew or niece
  3. Greetings and expression of gratitude

That’s fairly easy to write. But I need to mention that you can pay tribute to the celebrant’s mom and father as well as other family members and friends who helped bring him or her up.

Action Tip: Starting right now, write down a simple intro as well as a couple of individuals you wish to express appreciation to.

That’s not all. Closely connected to the introduction is an attention grabber. This is simply a statement that captures the attention of the party goers and makes them want to hang on to every word you say.

It was rendered like this in above scenario: ‘’ Good evening everyone and thanks for coming. Although Vlaimir is my nephew, I have always considered… ‘’

Well, no one likes a boring presentation. So, you have to start with a bang and I am happy to share with you a couple of ways you can easily do that.

First, right after a short self-presentation, you can start off by playing this video and you will tickle everyone with delight and laughter.

Second, if you are tongue tied and not too sure where to start from, you can start with a story about his or her life. Stories like what happened when your nephew or niece was born, what happened on the day they were born, and a few days after their arrival.

Third, if you are short on ideas and you have a good singing voice, you can start out by breaking out into a beautiful song about your nephew or niece’s life and that will be more than enough to make everyone’s day. Can you give it a try?

Fourth, if most of the birthday party guests are Christians or you are a bible believing Christian, you can begin with a prayer of gratitude to God for adding another year to your nephew or niece’s life.

Fifth, you can make the occasion very memorable by presenting your nephew or niece a very unique birthday gift before you even start with your birthday message for him or her. Can you think of more perfect gift that suits the occasion and this purpose?

For example, to make it funny, you can say you are giving him 18 gifts. You can go a step further by bringing out what each stage of his or her life entails.

Let me be clear with this one. Suppose you have 18 gifts in your hand to give the birthday celebrant, right?

So, you start by giving the first gift and say something to this effect: Gift#1 represents the time you came into our lives.

Gift #2 indicates when you turned 1 year old and I was so excited that I almost dropped you on the sofa…

It goes on and on and on…I am sure you understand where we are going with this?

Now, let us see

How to Write the Body or Content of Your Birthday Toast for Your Nephew and Niece

Most speech givers assume that they can quickly piece together their stories. So they just dive in and write whatever comes to mind and make a few changes here and there. That shouldn’t be the case at all.

Birthday speech for nephew examples

To get a better handle on things and keep your ideas flowing in a well-structured manner, you should prepare and plan about what to say and how to say it before you even write down what you are going to say about your nephew or niece on their birthday.

So, here are a few steps to follow before you even think of writing your toast.

First, decide on how long or short you want your message to be. You shouldn’t get too fixated on the length because as long as it beautifully captures the spirit and character of the birthday guy or gal, you will have no trouble getting the attention of the party goers.

Next, you decide on the theme and style of your speech. Here, you have to decide if you want to deliver a narrative, sentimental, rhyming, and musical or a combination of one more speech styles.

All in all, what you choose should be something you are comfortable with. This should be something  that reflects your personal demeanor and not something that’s fabricated or in vogue.

Afterwards, you can watch a couple of videos about birthday speeches so you can get an idea of how such messages are delivered.

Well, I found these videos for you. Just hit the play button and see if there’s idea you can add to your speech from both clips.

Birthday Speech/Wishes for Niece (Video)

Then, you should come up with stories about your nephew or niece’s life. If you are stuck and don’t know where to start, then these pointers or questions can steer you in the right direction.

  • What was the feeling like when the birthday celebrant was born?
  • What were they like when they were much younger?
  • What were they like when they were growing up?
  • What have you learned from them?
  • What’s your advice for him or her as they grow up?

Action Tip: Write answers to the questions above and use your answers to write a rough first draft. Allow it to rest for a while and come back to clean it up until you are okay with the changes made.

Now, let’s look at this a little more closely: How to End Your Toast on a Very Memorable Note

The closing lines of your speech are equally important as the opening remarks. But I still wonder why a lot of folks don’t pay attention to this crucial aspect of their presentation. I am sure they are accustomed to ending their toasts with one or more of these best wishes:

  • You're the most adorable, talented, and mischievous nephew (niece) there is. Happy birthday to the perfect nephew!
  • You are a wonderful reminder of all that makes life wonderful. ...
  • You're the naughtiest nephew(niece) but also the cutest, so you're forgiven

But other than that, you can conclude your toast with any of these techniques.

First, you can end with a prayer if you are Christians.

Second, you can gift your nephew or niece a very special gift to end it all.

Third, if you don’t have anything to say, just end with one of the best wishes above or your own.

But as you are pretty much aware, these gifts can lose their appeal in no time at all.

However, the written word will always stand the test of time. Which is why it’s so important to write a sweet birthday tribute for your sister or brother even if he or she is celebrating his or her 16th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 80th, 85th , 90th,etc birthday.

Take Note of These Before You Even Start To Write and Your Speech Will Be a Hit

Well, I want to show you how you can tap into the power of the written word.

But before we do that, let us take note of a few things you should take note of before you can make your sibling proud with your birthday tribute.

The following are myths that always stand in the way when people have to deliver any kind of speech.

First and foremost, most people think they have to be good writers to craft brilliant speeches. That’s not entirely true although being great with words always help to a certain extent.

You see, as long as you are able to capture what you wish to say about your brother or sister in a very coherent manner, you will have no problem at all capturing the attention of the audience.

Second, most people are pricked with fear when they imagine themselves standing before a group of people to present a message. It even gets worse if they are about to deliver a very personal speech.

Well, if you want to do well, then you have got to put the past behind you and just focus on the next performance.

As you keep your gaze fixed on what you want to say no matter the obstacles, you will be filled with a new surge of energy that will prop you up for success. This always works even if you are nervous as a deer in the headlights.

Now, let’s see

How to Write a Heartfelt and Inspiring Birthday Toast for Your Brother or Sister

A reason why most people find it so hard to express their thoughts on paper is because they start to pen down their thoughts without actually finding out how it is done.

It’s just like someone planning to travel to another country without having a solid plan in hand.

To get started, you should first study samples of birthday speeches that were a hit. You can immerse yourself in the process by either watching videos or reading proven birthday templates or both. Both serve complementary roles though.

So, I would recommend that you watch the following videos to start with. As you do, jot down ideas and phrases you think can fit into your birthday message.

Video # 2: Birthday Speech Example for Sister

Did you enjoy those clips? I did!

Now, let us also look at two written examples. Afterwards, I will break it down step by step so you can figure out how to write the content of your birthday speech for your brother or sister.

Here you go:

Birthday Speech Example/ Template for a Brother

Good evening and thanks everyone for coming. I am Mike, brother of the birthday guy.

My older brother has always held a special place in my heart. When I look back at how the wonderful gifts that have come my way, I always like to think he’s the most priceless gift I have ever received.

He’s always being such a great role model for every brother because he’s so loving, protective and supportive.

I remember

You’ve been a blessing not only to me but everyone you’ve ever come into contact with. God only knows what my life would have been like if you were not in it. Thank you for always being there for me and giving me your support and strength.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

May your life be filled with sweet moments, happy smiles and blissful memories. May this day give you a new beginning in life.

Happy birthday and enjoy your day as much as you can!

How to write a birthday speech for my sister

Birthday Speech Example/ Template for a Sister

Today I have the pleasure of watching my dear elder sister turn another year older! The fact that I am the first born is plain to see as I have more grays and wrinkles than the birthday girl!

All throughout childhood we always had each other’s back, and it’s so great to know that even as we grow older nothing has changed in the least. I still remember the thrill and sense of excitement I felt when she first came home as a little baby girl.

As she grew older, she became a min version of me and we were like twins as we grow older. She was more like my shadow.  I remember once………….

I can’t comprehend how my life would have been without you in it. Through you, I have experienced some of the best moments in life and I know there will be more to come.

I am so blessed to have such an incredible sister like you. I’ll always admire and love you and hold your back!

I’m wishing you an amazing and beautiful birthday today, sis! Happy birthday and God bless you!

Both were short and to the point! Now, let’s start with what I told you about earlier.

If you look at both carefully, you will realize both templates have an introduction, body, and conclusion.

To make the writing of your birthday message a breeze, you can split the sections into these three parts and take it from there.

So, let’s first start with the opening remarks or address. As you have seen from the opening addresses above, it has two basic elements.

The first part mainly comprises a short self-introduction as well as expression of gratitude to your brother or sister for asking you to deliver the speech as well as the party planners if you know who they are.

If your parents or other siblings and their families are around, you can briefly acknowledge their presence.

When you are done, you can dive right in with a catch phrase or statement. This is where most speakers fail to make the desired impression.

How then do you get the attention of the audience and make everyone want to hang on to everything you say?

Don’t worry because these simple ideas will help you do justice to this very crucial part of your presentation.

First, you can simply copy any of the examples above if you really have nothing to say or you are stuck for ideas.

Second, you can come up with something funny by playing this video to entertain the guests before you actually deliver your birthday message for your brother or sister. I am sure that tickled you with laughter and excitement, right?

Third, if you are a Christian or the birthday celebrant is, you can begin your speech with a scripture or bible verse. For example you may start with any of these bible quotes

a. Psalm 133

King James Version

133 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;

As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

b. Psalm 136

King James Version

136 O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

  1. John 3: 36

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them

Now, let’s try to use the first verse to write a few lines.

Scripture says how good and pleasant it is to dwell in unity. Tonight, we have come together to give thanks to God for the gift of life and to celebrate with Mark.

Did you see how I came up with that short example?

Fourth, if you want to deliver an emotional tribute, you may start with quotes. It could be quotes about friendship or life or anything you can imagine.

Below are some good ones you can use.

  • ‘’The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart.” — Elisabeth Foley
  • “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you; spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life.” — Amy Poehler
  • They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.” — Carl W. Buechner

Fifth, you can dive right in with a funny story about what happened prior to your brother or sister’s birth if you are an older sibling or have been told what happened on that fateful day.

Sixth, this is rarely done. But if you can find a way to tie in your brother or sister’s birthday to an event in history, then your toast will be very unique and memorable.

Birthday speech for my sister

Ok, let me illustrate with this example.

My brother’s birthday is a very special day. Come to think of it. On this day, the great novelist Terry Simples was born. On this same day, my brother Dan also made his grand entry into this world and as you all know, on this beautiful day 50 years ago, my younger brother arrived two years after I did.

He tells me there’s this kind and gentle person who also shares the same birthday. But he chose to be with us today and defer his to the next weekend because of the love and respect he has for his friend.

Where is this very wonderful friend? Yeah, there he is. Can you give him a hand?

With that being said, let us now turn our attention to this:

How to Write the Content or Body of Your Birthday Speech for Your Brother or Sister

I always cringe with disappointment and frustration whenever someone writes to me and ask me how to put together a speech for them.

On the surface, it looks very easy to write a good speech. But most people struggle to get it done because they don’t have a plan of action.

To pour your heart out, you first need a workable plan you so you can come up with best ideas. This is what I recommend you do to get your thoughts flowing freely.

First, you have got to decide on the theme and style of your speech.

The style is simply how you want it to sound. Do you want it to sound poetic, narrative, sentimental, rhyming, funny or didactic? Please decide and stick with one or more of these styles.

Second, you have to decide how long or short you want your toast for your brother or sister to last. You really don’t have to worry about the length or duration of what you wish to say. As long as it is engaging, everyone will be happy to listen to you.

Third, gather the right facts and make sure you present them coherently. If you are an older brother or sister, then you can say a whole lot about his or her life.

It’s common for most siblings to tell beautiful stories about their sons and weave in something sentimental. Others give a step by step account of the birthday celebrant’s life. Not bad though. But if you want to go that route, just make sure the story is nice to hear and doesn’t sound like a biography.

You can get these stories by doing a little brainstorming to spark a better idea. Then, you choose from the pool of stories that you think can best help you to say something about your brother or sister.

Ok…If you still don’t know where to start from, then just answer the following questions. Your answers can be used as starting points for the rest of your speech.

Here you go:

  • How did you feel when your brother or sister was born?

  • What was life like with him or her growing up?

  • What are some memorable events you can remember?

  • What are some funny memories about him or her?

  • What are his or her views about life and growing old?

Action Tip: Write down answers to the above questions and use your answers to write a rough draft of your speech. When it’s over, you can later go back to edit the piece until it comes out the way you want it.

Now, let’s turn our focus to…

How You Can End Your Speech with a Bang

Most speeches often end with the same tone and emotions because we tend to copy one another a great deal.

But there are always ways of making the conclusion of every presentation unique and different from any other.

I want to make this aspect of the writing process very easy for you so that you can end your tribute on a very happy note.

First, you can gift your sibling very special gift and you will make the event a very memorable one.

Second, you can end by singing the happy birthday song.  Here you simply make it your own by substituting a few words here and there.

Here’s an example

Happy birthday to my brother John (sister Joanna)

Happy birthday to my brother John (sister Joanna)

Happy birthday to you

Happy birthday to my precious brother (sister)

How old are you now?

How old are you now?

(Response)

I am 17 years old now

I am 17 years old now

You can swap 1 and 7

And you will know that I am 71

I am not a small boy!

Just look at my gray hair

And you will know that I am 71

Now you know that I am an old man!

Hip hip hip Hurrrrrrrrrrrrray!!!

Did you see how I personalize that song? Can you give it a try?

Birthday Speech or Toast for Father from Son or Daughter

How to Painlessly Write a Great Birthday Message for Your Dad in a Very Short Amount of Time

Are you looking for great ideas on how to do any of these things?

  • How to write a great birthday speech for your dad on his 50th, 60th, 70th, 75th, 80th, 90th birthday

  • How to get good birthday speech examples you can model your speech after

  • Ideas to help you say something about your dad on his birthday

If you nodded yes all to that, then you are in good hands because I am going to walk you through everything you need to know about writing a great birthday speech toast for your dad on his birthday.

Most people underestimate the role fathers play in our lives. But if you have really been touched by a good father, then you know that you have been touched by a very special angel of love.

I never knew my dad. Let me say I saw him for just a week. I first saw him when I was 17 years old and later met him on his death bed. How sad!

Birthday speech to my dad

But I was blessed to have a step dad who stepped up to the plate and performed admirably well.

I am sure you have such a responsible dad and at this point I know you are thinking about how to make him proud with your birthday message.

This thought gets a little intimidating if you are not good with words and have heard so many people say that only persons with a love for words can write something amazing. That’s a myth. So, please don’t fall for it.

You only have to know the ropes well enough to do that and you will pull a wonderful surprise even if you think you are not good with words.

It can also get pretty terrifying if you have ever experienced any setback concerning speaking in public. This new task will definitely bring back memories of that horrible moment and make you wonder if you can make dad proud.

You should all that behind you if you really want to make a difference this time around.  I have helped several nervous and tongue tied people give brilliant speeches with flair and confidence and I can tell you that it’s not as hard as most people imagine it to be.

With that being said, let’s now look into this:

How to Write a Memorable Birthday Speech for Your Dad

First and foremost, let’s study the following example carefully.  Then, we will break one of them down so you can figure out what goes into writing a great piece.

Dad’s 50th Birthday Speech

I would like to thank Samantha for this great example.

I don’t think there is a shadow of doubt in this room that I stand before all of you as a true, 100% daddy’s girl. Growing up, the biggest compliment you could have given me is to say how much I looked like Dad, how much I walked like Dad, how much my mannerisms were exactly like Dad’s.

I loved hearing it because it made me feel closer to Dad. I wanted to be closer to Dad because he is my best friend.

A lot of parents can’t wait for the day that their kids become old enough so they can have that coveted best friend relationship with each other. But for me, even at a young age, Dad had always played that hybrid older brother-young father role in my life.

I was very shy, didn’t have a lot of confidence and had practically no friends at the first primary school I attended. This meant that I longed for my weekends where I could escape with Dad to our glorious routine of KFC and lepak at Atria Shopping Mall.

This means that aside from bringing me weekly joy in the form of chicken nuggets, he is also 100% responsible for how fat I used to be. I think we both realized that my KFC obsession was about to hit a turning point when at the tender age of six or seven years old, I asked Dad if I could have the family size potato gravy all to myself. He said no.

But truly, on weekends, we lived my rockstars. Dad bought me my first PlayStation after realizing it was something I would have preferred over Barbie dolls, and he was right. He bought me everything from hamsters to badminton racquets, even though I didn’t particularly like badminton, I just wanted to make friends at school.

The stereotypical Asian dad is one who stoic, unfeeling and a bit of a workaholic. But Dad is different. Dad has always had an unwavering confidence in knowing exactly who I am. I wanted to be closer to my dad because he taught me about music.

When I was 11 years old, Dad took me to my first concert ever, Linkin Park live at Stadium Bukit Jalil. After the concert, he tried his best to get me home on time so I could still attend school the next day. But even if we had stayed out all night, I was adamant about going to school because I wanted to tell everyone about my cool head banging dad who preferred screaming rock to The Bee Gees.

It wasn’t just these big ticket events that were fun, the every day was an adventure with Dad. My fondest memories are of being picked up in Dad’s old Ford Escape, en route to completing a banal errand such as grocery shopping while listening to his latest music purchase.

It was through Dad that I had my first taste of TLC, a 90s all girl R&B group, of which the messages pertained to their songs actually became fundamental learnings for me. The first song Dad taught me is called ‘Unpretty’ and he explained to me that it was about inner beauty and self-acceptance.

The lyrics go:

You can buy your hair if it won’t grow

You can fix your nose if he says so

You can buy all the makeup that M.A.C. can make

But if you can’t look inside you

Find out who am I too

Be in the position to make me feel so damn unpretty

The second song by TLC, I now realized he taught me for a very good reason. In fact, I’m quite sure I was even subconsciously made to memorize it as we played it on a continuous loop. The chorus of it is as follows:

No I don’t want your number

No I don’t want to give you mine and

No, I don’t want to meet you nowhere

No, I don’t want none of your time and

No, I don’t want no scrub

A scrub is a guy that can’t get no love from me

Thanks for the early warning Dad.

I wanted to be closer to Dad because he inspires me to be the best version of myself.

Studies are extremely important in Dad’s household but any bad results were not dealt with your typical reprimands. Dad had a very different strategy of sitting me down and together we would discuss my grades, reevaluate my life and my values. This sort of logical reasoning was much, much worse than any form of physical pain because I hated to disappoint him.

My favourite story regarding this was the time I didn’t do so well in a mathematics exam. That day, the lesson was “Get it right the first time” “Get it right the first time Sam,” said Dad. “In my line of work, if I make a mistake or even a tiny miscalculation, buildings fall and people die. So, get it right the first time”.

In all seriousness, Dad was only ever tough on me if he sensed that I had not given my best. Because that is the way he lives his life, whether in work or play, a big undertaking or a tiny task, Dad always gave his 100%.

I wanted to be closer to Dad because when you look up “nice guy” in the dictionary, you see a photo of him.

You can call my Dad many things. A golf tragic, a by-product of a traumatic boarding school experience in rural NSW or even a Leeds United supporter till death do they part. But no title quite encapsulates who he is than the fact that my Dad is simply a really good person. He’s made many sacrifices for me, for the boys and for Aunty Lisa and has worn many hats.

Examples include being the unofficial driver to tuition and swimming practice, and agony aunt when life in Sydney gets a bit too overwhelming for me and I need a listening ear. By leading through example, he’s shown me the importance of respecting my elders and looking after Ma Ma and Goong Goong.

Birthday toast examples for my dad

My Dad is kind to strangers, kinder to friends but there are no people in the world he loves more than family. And I’m sure all of you have a great Leslie moment where you came away from and couldn’t help but think “Les is such a good guy”.

Dad. I’m so proud to call you Dad. Thank you for loving me . The greatest gift you’ve ever given me is not the first PlayStation or the Backstreet Boys Greatest Hits cassette, but an infallible moral compass that I know will always guide me to do the right thing.

No matter how far apart we might be physically, or how many WhatsApp and Viber calls have died on us, or if I end up marrying my non-scrub husband one day, I know we will always be close. And I will always be your girl. Happy 50th Birthday.

I don’t know about you. But I did enjoy this special, wonderful birthday tribute to this great man. I am sure you are wondering how you can come up with something like that if not better.

The good news is you can. Just stay put and let us do this  together.

First and foremost, let’s start with Samantha’s introductory remarks.

Here you go:

‘’I don’t think there is a shadow of doubt in this room that I stand before all of you as a true, 100% daddy’s girl. Growing up, the biggest compliment you could have given me is to say how much I looked like Dad, how much I walked like Dad, how much my mannerisms were exactly like Dad’s. I loved hearing it because it made me feel closer to Dad’’

I particularly love this introduction because it is witty, sweet and warm. Before you attempt to write something like that, there are a few things I would like you to know about.

The writer could have begun with a short self-introduction although I am sure the emcee would have introduced her to the party guests.

Nonetheless, she could have said something along these lines:

''Hello….Good evening everyone. I am Samantha….Dad’s little girl. I actually share the same birthday with him and I am happy that you have come from far and near to be with us tonight.''

What’s more, she could have gone on to thank his dad for asking her to give those brief remarks as well as other personalities who were at the birthday bash.

People like

  • Your uncles and aunts
  • His friends
  • His neighbors
  • His business associates
  • His pastor

Please note: If your dad will be thanking all those people, you can simply say: ‘’Thank you everyone for coming.’’

Now, let us see how to start your opening remarks with a bang since every good speech has to start on a bright note.

First, you can customize the example above to suit your writing needs if you are a Daddy’s girl.

Second, if you or your father is a Christian, you can start with a simple prayer that will bless your dad’s life. This simple but powerful prayer can work.

On this special day, may God bless you with many reasons to rejoice and be glad as you add another year today.

May God bless you so much and may God continue to fill your heart with happiness, love, joy, and peace. Happy birthday, dad.

Third, if you want everyone to breakout into laughter, you can probably show this video as a surprise before you even deliver your birthday speech for dad. That would at least lighten up the mood.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Fourth, if you are a good singer, you can simply write some brief remarks about your father and sing it to the beat of a well-known song and your speech will be a massive hit.

Fifth, before you even start delivering your toast, you can gift dad a very special gift to show everyone how much you love and appreciate him. Can you think of a more perfect gift that will make dad so proud of you?

If you do, then you better get it and deliver it to him and you will be admired and respected for being so kind and thoughtful.

Sixth, you can start on an emotional note by infusing your opening remarks with any of these touching quotes.

  • “Dad: A son’s first hero, a daughter’s first love.” —Unknown
  • The power of a dad in a child’s life is unmatched.” —Justin Ricklefs
  • “It is a wise father that knows his own child.” —William Shakespeare
  • “A father’s smile has been known to light up a child’s entire day.” —Susan Gale
  • “A father doesn’t tell you that he loves you. He shows you.” —Dimitri the Stoneheart

Ok, I would like to use the second quote to illustrate how quotes can be used to write a captivating opening address.

When I was growing up, dad used to say that every child needs a dad in their life because the power of a dad in a child’s life is unmatched. It is only when I grew older that I perfectly understood what he meant by that. He didn’t have to explain it to me but I got that from him when he rescued me from a wild stray cat that had sneaked into our house.

Mom was the first to spot that critter in our yard and she ran as fast as her legs could carry due to obvious reasons. Our screams awoke dad from his sleep and he dashed right to the spot where he……….

Did you notice how I insert those witty lines into that extract? That’s exactly how it is done.

Birthday speech for father from son

Now, let’s see how you can write the body or outline of the toast itself.

Several people get excited about writing a memorable birthday tribute for their dad but they get stuck in the process and end up not sure of what to do next.

If you really want to get your creative juices flowing, there are a couple of simple steps to follow to get it done.

First, you have to identify the kind of speech style you want to go with. Do you want to do something funny, sentimental, poetic, narrative, theatrical, musical or a combination of two or more styles? Choosing a style that best resonates with you will set you apart from the other speakers.

Then, you have to watch a couple of videos to get an idea of how such toasts are delivered if you have never come across one.

Well, here are two classics I found for you. Click the play button to watch them and see if there’s anything you can add to your own birthday message for dad.

Birthday Speech for Dad Video#1

Birthday Speech for Dad Video#2

After watching those video clips, you can start to put your ideas together based on what you know about your dad. Remember, this is not a biography. But an account of his life based on what makes him unique as a person.

For example, you can mention that he is kind, caring, and supportive and then you go on to support those qualities with stories about those traits.

Again, you can simply share memorable anecdotes about him, particularly those you participated in.

Action Tip: Go grab your pen and paper and write down answers to these brief questions.

  1. What are your dad’s special qualities?
  1. What makes him a very special person to you, your family and those he comes into contact with?
  1. What memories do you have about him?
  1. What do you want to say to your dad on his birthday?

Now, using that template as an inspiration, write down a brief outline of your speech and go back to edit it until you are very pleased with what you have got.

Now, let us go on to…

Proven Techniques to Help You End Your Speech on a Happy and Memorable Note

The closing lines of your birthday toast for your father is as equally important as your opening remarks. Granted, most speakers don’t end too well. All they do is to say their best wishes and go back to their seats.

There’s nothing wrong with that approach. But we can always look at more interesting ways of wrapping up on a bright note.

How then, can you do that? I am glad you have asked this great question.

First, you can simply say your well-wishes if you have nothing at all to say. Here are some good ones you can use.

  • Celebrate this great day with the knowledge that nothing can take away the happiness you deserve in life if you do not give the green light to it. Happy birthday!
  • May the coming years of your life be filled with unlimited happiness and joys. Happy birthday to the most amazing dad ever!
  • Happy birthday dad! I wish nothing but absolute best for you as this is what you truly deserve! Proud to call myself your son(daughter) !

Second, you can give your dad a very beautiful and special gift and he will be so proud of you. What gift do you have in mind? You better think about it and give him something to laugh about.

Third, you can end by thanking your father for his love and support over the years. You might end your story with at least 3 reasons why you feel extremely thankful to have your dad in your life.

Birthday speech by mom

You Are The Most Special Person on Earth…Here’s Why

There’s no doubt that mothers play a very influential role in their child’s life.

Right from when you discover that you have taken seed to when your child gets married to the love of their life, to when your children have their own kids, mothers are always there for their offspring no matter what they go through in their lives.

One proud moment for all mothers is when their children celebrate their birthdays. This memorable day is meant not only to celebrate your child’s life but also to tell their friends and family what they mean to you.

If you are wondering about what to say on your son’s or daughter’s birthday, then you don’t have to worry because in this post, I am going to share with you everything you need to know to help you write a sweet birthday message or speech for your son and daughter.

But before we delve into it, let us look at two issues that hold most people back from doing so well when they are presented with an opportunity to say a few words before any crowd.

Do you have any idea what they are? You might even be experiencing one as I write this now.

Ok….

Take Care of These and Your Speech Will Be a Massive Hit

First, most speech givers get butterflies in their tummy when they imagine how their speeches would be received by their listeners. This usually happens due to past speaking failures.

For example, if you have failed to address an audience confidently sometime in the past, old memories will come back to haunt you and you will even begin to wonder if you are really cut out for speaking in public.

You can turn the tide around by putting the past behind you no matter how humiliating it was and embrace this new task with a heart of confidence and you will be filled with an unstoppable surge of energy no matter what is going through your mind.

Second, most people think it’s only good writers who have the ability to craft superb toasts.

I have read several great tributes that were written by people like you and me. Although being blessed with the gift of words can largely influence your choice of words to a large degree, if you learn the ropes and apply yourself to it, you too can write a great speech without trying so hard.

Having said that, let us now look at how to easily and quickly write a great birthday toast for your son or daughter on his or her 1st, 16th, 18th, 21st, 30th, 40th etc. birthday.

To do that, we can start off by looking at this birthday speech template which will form the basis for our study.

A Mother’s Birthday Message for Her Son

P.S I would like to thank Lynette Sheppard for posting this excellent example on her blog. Although this for a son, you can still tweak it if for example, you are writing about your daughter.

I cannot believe this day has arrived – the day I have simultaneously anticipated and dreaded. The little boy who made me a mother, who screamed himself hoarse on the first night home from the hospital and caused me years of grief with his beloved iron will is now 18, all grown up and making final preparations for his impending flight from the nest.

Months, not years, are all that I have left before the dynamic of our family morphs into something that I cannot yet fully grasp. And I have feelings: lots of big feelings.

While I could write a novel about my experience with this boy and how it has largely made me into the person and mother I am today, I will spare you the soliloquy. Instead, I am going to talk directly to him and invite you to read along.

Dear Jordan,

I remember well the day that you joined our family, a perfect little bundle of joy. While I was young, inexperienced, and naive, I could not have been happier to hold you in my arms and dream about what you would grow up to become.

It was apparent from day one that you came to this earth with a mind of your own. You were perceptive beyond measure. You knew how you wanted things and refused to accept anything less, especially from yourself.

With your innate perfectionistic tendencies, intelligence, and musicality that were all manifested within the first few months your life, I knew that I would have my hands full. You initially gave me a run for my money and caused me to question what I could possibly teach you (because you thought you already knew everything) and how I would ever be able to help you mold your stubborn persistence into something worthwhile.

There were many days when I secretly questioned the Lord’s decision to send you to me because I felt so unqualified to teach you how to behave, let alone how to become a contributing member of society.

But, many times, when I was at my wit’s end and had no idea how I was going to get up and work with you again the next day, the Lord mercifully sent His Spirit to whisper in my ear, reminding me of your potential and the stature of your spirit:

How to write a birthday message for your son or daughter on his or her birthday

“You can’t see it now,” He would say, “but this child is going to do incredible things. I sent him to you with a strong will because he will need it to accomplish the mission that I have prepared for him. You have no idea how lucky you are to be his mother.”

Those gentle reminders are what kept me going through the long days that stretched into months and years.

While those early experiences with you are still etched into my memory, they have been overshadowed in recent times with quiet observations of your evolution to greatness. Your stubborn “I must always be right and perfect” nature has softened into teachable humility.

Your tender heart that sees and reaches out to those who are struggling, even when it requires great personal sacrifice, is nothing short of inspiring. Your love of God and others is written all over your countenance.

Your intelligence blows me away, yet you do not let it go to your head. I guess your head is already filled with things like multivariable calculus. While I’m sure you got most of your smarts from me, I begrudgingly admit that this particular part of your genius must have come from Dad. (Surprising, I know.)

The work ethic that you have developed through passing 12 AP exams with flying colors (so far) is going to serve you in ways that you cannot yet understand. And waking yourself up (nearly) every day at 5:00 am with very little complaint for the past four years, so that you could attend early morning seminary, tells me more about your character than you realize.

Your patience with your younger siblings makes a huge difference in our home. They are fortunate to have such a good example for a big brother. Except when it comes to cleaning your bedroom. You might want to work on that just a tiny bit. (Hint, hint)

And let’s not even talk about your musical prowess, or I may lose my composure. The beautiful music that has filled our home because of your talent will be one of the things that I miss the most when you leave.

You and I may have gotten off to a rocky start 18 years ago, but I can say with 100% confidence that I feel blessed beyond measure to be your mother. Watching your gradual transformation from perfectionistic and challenging child to humble, kind, and driven young adult has been one of the greatest gifts of my life.

I know I have not been a perfect mother; far from it. But I will be forever grateful that the Lord took a chance on me as a young, newly married woman 18 years ago by sending you to me.

I feel like I have often been more of a student than a teacher through this process, learning how to be more like the Savior by observing the light that emanates from your very being. No matter what happens after you embark on your post high school adventure, do whatever it takes to keep that light. It will lead you to accomplish amazing things.

Now, let me just say that I know your high school career has been stuffed full of college-level academics and their accompanying stress, sometimes at the expense of other things. It has been a tough road, and I know that you regret parts of it because you feel like you missed out on some of your childhood at the hands of education.

Knowing what we know now, we both may have made different educational decisions for you if we could go back and do it again. However, I want you to remember that knowledge is never wasted. It is something that will enrich your life and the lives of those with whom you associate again and again.

Not only that, but life does not end with high school; it begins. You have a world of opportunities and experiences ahead of you that you can now scarcely imagine.

Look forward with hope and anticipation, not backward with regret. Your experiences have prepared you well for the future and all of its complexity. Of this, I am sure.

At this point, I want to give you a bit of advice as you prepare for the next important chapter in your life because that is my job as your mother:

  1. STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD.
  2. DON’T BE STUPID.
  3. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF HOW TO PROCEED, REFER TO NUMBERS ONE AND TWO.

I am confident that you were born to lead and I can’t wait to see what you do with your immense talent and unlimited potential. Please know that I love you with all of my heart and will always be here for you, no matter what. My relationship with you is one of my most prized possessions.

I am beyond lucky to be your mom. Happy 18th Birthday!

Can you write something like that, if not better? You can! Just stick with me for a while.

Your Friends and Family Will Marvel If You Start Your Speech This Way

Now, let us break down the different parts of this template so that we can use the ideas gleaned to write a heartfelt birthday toast for your child.

First, let us start with the opening remarks. Here is an excerpt of it to guide us every step of the way.

‘’ I cannot believe this day has arrived – the day I have simultaneously anticipated and dreaded. The little boy who made me…’’

If you look at the above quotation, you will realize that the opening statement is intended to capture attention right from the get-go.

However, most opening lines are not inspiring enough.

It’s pretty common for most moms to start talking about their sons or daughters in this all important aspect of the presentation.

Well, there’s nothing wrong with that style. But you always go a step further by coming up with other creative ways that will make your speech very entertaining, unique, and memorable.

At this point, let us see how you can inventively start with a bang.

First, if you or your family is a Christian or deeply religious, you can kick start with a bible based prayer. Here is an example of how to weave that into your birthday message.

As you celebrate your birthday this special day, may the Lord heap His favor on you.  At His command, may the universe be kind to you.

On your birthday, may the Lord go ahead of you and open doors of greatness for you. May He bless your going out and your coming in. May The Lord keep His angels charge of you, to protect you from every harm every step of the way in Jesus name!

Second, if you have a beautiful voice, you can simply write a brief poem about your child and sing it to the beat of a well-known song. This way of presentation has always proven to be a hit with everyone. Just try it if you can and everyone will be complimentary.

Third, to make your presentation absolutely hilarious, you can show this funny video or something similar to that before you even say anything about your son or daughter.

Fourth, the most popular way of diving deep into your presentation is to start with a story about your son’s or daughter’s life.

It could be a funny incident that occurred prior or after his or her birth or when they were growing up. The trick here is to lace your speech with fond and memorable stories.

Fifth, does your son or daughter share the same birthday with an influential personality or even a member of your family?

For instance, you could say something along these lines:

Special people are born on March 14. My mom was born on this day. So was Dan’s uncle. When I was expecting him, the doctors said I will have him on 21st March. But on 12th March my water broke and it wasn’t until a minute past midnight on March 14th that he made his grand entrance into this world.

Did you see how I wrote that?

Now, let us turn our attention to the next issue on the table:

How to Write the Structure or Outline of Your Birthday Toast for Your Son or Daughter

This aspect of your message seems fairly easy to write. But the problem for most mothers lie in organizing their random thoughts into a very coherent manner. This happens because they lack a plan. Even where one exists, they don’t stick with it through and through.

To make sure your ideas spring to life, you have to follow a simple plan to organize your scattered thoughts.

First, select a style or theme for your message and your choice should be a reflection of who you are or your personal demeanor. The styles to choose from include witty, narrative, musical, rhythmic, poetic, sentimental, or a blend of two or more speaking styles.

Next, decide on the duration of your speech. It should be long or short enough to capture what you really want to say.

Afterwards, get your creative juices flowing by putting yourself in the mood for the right expressions of ideas. Watching a couple of videos can get you started. YouTube has tons of these videos to give you a clear picture of how to go about it.

By the way, I got these video clips for you. Please take a few minutes to enjoy them and see if you can learn a thing or two from them.

Video # 1: Birthday Speech for Your Son

Video # 2: Birthday Speech for Your Daughter

After you watched these videos, you then proceed to jot down your ideas. You can frame your storyline after the above example. Or better still, provide answers to the following questions and use the content to write a quick rough draft.

Now, this is what I want you to do. Go grab your pen and paper and write answers to these questions.

  • What was the feeling like when your son or daughter was born?
  • How did you feel when your child was growing up?
  • Do you have any funny memories you want to add to your toast?
  • What do you want to say to your child on his or her birthday?
  • What are your best wishes for him or her?

Action Tip: Write a rough draft and keep reviewing and cleaning it up until it comes out the way you want it to be.

Now, let’s quickly end with this:

How to Create a Memorable Ending

The ending of your message is like the climax of the story. But it should good enough to make your remarks remember bits and pieces of what you say.

How then do you write a great conclusion that will remain in the mind of your listeners for a long time to come?

First, you can wrap up on a very happy note by asking everyone to join as you sing a parody of the ever popular tune ‘’Happy Birthday To You’’

Here you can tweak it a bit to make it more personal.

Second, you can gift your son and daughter a very special gift and it will convey how much they mean the world to you. What do you think you can really present to your child on his or her special day?

Third, you can end by thanking certain personalities who have been a tremendous blessing in your life. Can you mention some of them and why you are thanking them?

Fourth, you can end with a special prayer if you are devout Christians. What better way to end your speech than asking God to shower your boy or girl with blessings from above.

Fifth, if you are lost for words, you can simply end with some well wishes. That’s easy to pen down, right?

Do You Want To Be Like Her?

Every woman deserves to be loved and look forward to the beautiful day when she ties the knot with the man of her dreams.

That was the wish of Dani from a very young age. She always wanted to be a bride. Once, she was playing with her dad in their backyard when she went down one knee and asked her father to marry her.

Birthday speech for my husband on his birthday - Copy

Dad found that very amusing that he called the whole family to witness their little girl ‘’propose marriage’’ to him. They all couldn’t hold back their laughter when they got to the scene.

You couldn’t blame the little girl. Little Dani loved watching romantic movies and had seen the men do it and often asked her parents why men were always on their knees, and not the women.

So, the curious little girl took matters into her own hands and did it her own way. Well, years after that ‘’backyard proposal’’, she found herself married to a wonderful man who was a lot like her dad!

John knew how to treat a woman right and she had been with Dani through good times and bad. He was someone every woman would wish to have in their life.

On John’s 40th birthday, Dani wanted to express his love for the love of her life in a very special way and with her family, friends, and neighbors coming, she thought of a very befitting way to publicly convey the love and admiration she has for John.

After considering several options, she settled on a birthday toast for her husband. Rose, her best friend convinced her to go with that even though she wasn’t a great speaker.

After John had spoken briefly and thanked a few people, she was asked to deliver her toast. Her husband was a bit worried and the guests wondered what she was going to say since she had told everyone she knew how much she hated speaking in public and now here she was.

When she grabbed the microphone, the room fell silent and these were her words.

Birthday Speech Example/Template for Your Husband

I would like to thank Dani of Coffee Chaos and Singles for this great piece.

Happy Birthday!

40 Years.

14,600 Days.

350,400 Hours.

21,024,000 Minutes.

That is how long you have graced this planet.

And I’ve only had 3,540 of those days.

You’re trying to check my math, huh? Don’t waste your time

Don’t look at this day as a sign that you’re “getting old” but as a sign of “getting better”. You’re a dude, which means that somehow aging only makes you a more luxurious version of yourself. As I (a woman) ages, I just deteriorate. You just keep getting better looking with age.

Today we celebrate you and the many gifts you offer.

Fatherhood.

I still remember the moment, even before we were married, that I knew you’d be an amazing father. What I didn’t realize is that “amazing” would grow to be a HUGE understatement. You are both kind and firm. You PLAY like it’s your full time job.

You hurt when they hurt, you pick them up when they fail, you guide when they need direction and you celebrate when they succeed. You are magical in this role. Braxton and Beckett are blessed to have you as a dad, and more importantly-perhaps- is how blessed I am that you are their father.

Support.

You have and always will be my biggest fan. You have continuously pushed me to succeed in the almost ten years we’ve been together.

You’ve pushed me to write my book, start my own company, and held my hand as we walked through our emotional journey to parenthood and everything following. I don’t think I could have made it through that journey without the love and support from you. You believe in me. You believe in our dreams. You believe in our children. Thank you.

Birthday toast for my husband tips

Laughter.

Your laugh is contagious. You make fun of me (all the time) or crack silly jokes with our boys, but your laugh is part of the reason I fell in love with you so many years ago. It’s genuine.  It’s you, and it’s brilliant. You’re a kid at heart, and that’s what makes you so lovable.

Hard-Work

You often work 7 days a week to provide a comfortable life for the boys and myself. You miss out on relaxing weekends, but once you’re home you’re all about family. Your boys  love the attention you give them.

Braxton absolutely cherishes the wrestling and nerf guns wars that transpire within our home daily. Beckett loves the goofy faces and sounds you make, and his laugh is enough to melt anyone’s heart. The happiness our boys experience when they’re with you is non-replaceable.

Husband.

You are committed. Through thick and thin, your loyalty, love and support is evident. You have  taken this role to heart, and you truly are an incredible husband.

I know I don’t give you enough credit sometimes and often give you a hard time, but I hope you know how much I appreciate and love you.

My wishes for you–

I pray that the “good days” far outnumber any other kind of day you have.

I pray that you never stop laughing.

I pray that you never give up on your dreams.

I pray that you recognize and feel the amount of love that surrounds you each day.

I pray that you never lose your sense of adventure.

I pray that you remain to be a kid at heart and never “grow up”

I pray that you truly know how much I (and the boys) appreciate all that you do for us each and every day.

I pray that you embrace 40 with open arms because baby you’re more handsome than ever!

After her last words were spoken, everyone got up and gave her a thunderous applause. Never in a million years did anyone think she could say something like that given her history of poor performance.

John was so proud of her that he hugged her for close to 5 minutes and didn’t want to leave her alone.

Can You Make Him Proud Too?

At this point, you might be wondering how her speech became a hit and how you can also pull off a remarkable performance like she did.

Don’t worry because in the next few lines, I am going to show you everything you need to know to help you write a touching birthday toast for your husband.

Before we dive right in, there are two things I would like to draw your attention to.

First, contrary to what most people think, you don’t have to be blessed with the gift of writing to pen down something amazing about the man in your life. So, just focus on what you want to say and do your best to follow the instructions on this page and you will surprise and delight everyone.

Second, you will do yourself a lot of good if you let go off troubling thoughts about past public speaking failures.

You might have failed to speak confidently when you were asked to deliver a few words at a church gathering, graduation, wedding, funeral, etc.

As you get all set to undertake another event similar to those, your mind will resurrect those old memories and paralyze you to the point of never trying again. You just have to put the past behind you and put in the work and you will make it this time around.

Having said that, let’s go back to the above template to figure out what went into writing it and how you can make the most of it.

To do that, let’s first re-cap parts of the introduction

‘’ Happy Birthday!

What comes to mind when you re-look at the above extract? That takes my mind back to my high school years when my English Teacher said every essay starts with an introduction? Do you remember that?

I hope you have not forgotten about that. Well, the introduction of your toast should have two main parts:

  • Greetings and self-introduction

  1. A hook- an opening statement that grabs attention immediately and draws your listeners into the body of your speech

A first grade student can even write the former since it requires little or no mental effort.

The latter is a little hard to put into words considering the fact that most speeches begin on rather a dull note.

Yours should start with a bang and it can only happen if you try to weave into your introductory remarks at least one of the following techniques.

First, you can start with a memorable story. An anecdote about where and how you met him. If there was a funny incident that occurred before his birthday, you can work that into your speech to make it more hilarious.  Can you give this a try?

Second, if you are a talented musician or have a good singing voice, you can use a well-known song to let your family and friends know why your husband means the world to you. Speakers who go that route often get tons of heartwarming compliments for their creativity.

Third, you can get everyone laughing like very happy kids by showing the following video or something similar to that before you even deliver your toast.

Fourth, if you or your husband is a Christian or very religious, you can start with a prayer and blessing before you share your birthday message about him. For example, this short prayer can suit the occasion.

Open your eyes to the truth of the word of God and see what he has in his books for you. He will cover you with his blood and raise you high among your equals. He will support you every day in every way and he will make sure lines fall in beautiful places for you.

Rejoice in the lord today because it is the day the lord has made. It is your joyful moment, let thank God and celebrate, you will live longer under the beautiful care of our Lord. All your sorrows will turn to happiness for you. Happy birthday to you darling husband.

Fifth, if your husband’s birthday coincides with those of some notable personalities or good events that changed the course of history, you can let the guests know about it. Of course, this approach requires a little digging for the right facts to make it work.

Here’s a short example to buttress this point.

As most of you know, John’s birthday falls on 14th February. He’s a very good man and I am sure God sent him from heaven on that day because so many good men were born on this day.

History tells us that Mr. Wise was born on this day. Dan was also born on this beautiful day. So was Mr. Valentine.

Most of you call my husband Uncle Valentine. Well, when I first John 30 years ago, he told me his nickname was Uncle Valentine. When I found why he had that name, I naively thought, if he’s called Valentine, then I have met my true love.

Don’t laugh. That sounds funny right? I was only a child by then. I think I was 14 years old then and I heard someone say anyone called Valentine will be a good husband. That person proved to be right because Mr. John Valentine has been a faithful husband these years 30 years.

You got the picture right?

Sixth, you can make your opening remarks a little sentimental or touching by infusing one or more of the following quotes into it.

  • “I saw that you were perfect, and so I loved you. Then I saw that you were not perfect and I loved you even more.” – Angelita Lim

  • ‘’ “I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out.” – Elizabeth Barrett Browning

  • ‘’ When I say I love you more, I don’t mean I love you more than you love me. I mean I love you more than the bad days ahead of us, I love you more than any fight we will ever have. I love you more than the distance between us, I love you more than any obstacle that could try and come between us. I love you the most.” – Unknown

Now, let’s move to on to the next section:

How to Write the Body or Outline of Your Birthday Toast for Your Husband

A lot of people send me all kinds of speeches for review and I often find that most of those pieces have many scattered thoughts and ideas which are poorly organized.

You see those speech givers as well as several others know what to say. But they struggle to bring all their ideas together in a way that makes sense.

You know why that always happens? These narrators don’t have a plan that will help them say what they really want to say.

Before you even decide to write something about your sweetheart, you need to have a framework or plan that would guide you from the start of your presentation to the end.

The first step involves choosing the style of theme of your toast. The styles to choose from include musical, storytelling or narration, gratitude, poetic, funny, sentimental, rhythmic or a combination of one or more speech styles.

These speech styles, in effect, gives meaning to your presentation since it’s a representation of who you really are. Your choice shouldn’t be based on what’s trending or what you think will make everyone appreciate your work. Just pick a speaking style you are comfortable with.

Afterward, decide on the length of your toast. It should be not too long or too short. But long or short enough to tell the guests why you love your husband.

If it’s very entertaining but too short, people will itch for more. But if it’s too long but very boring like a baby’s yawn, they will tune out.

Once you have settled on the length, you have to put yourself in the mood by watching a few video clips to get a fair idea of how birthday toasts are made.

There are so many of such videos online but youtube.com lots you can learn from.  Below are two clips you can watch and learn from.

Birthday Toast for Husband Example # 1

Birthday Toast for Husband Example # 2

After you have watched those video presentations, you can go ahead to recapture your husband’s life from when you first met him, to when you got married, to the present moment.

This comes in handy if you want to employ the narrative style of speaking. That of course tinged with something sentimental is the most preferred style.

By the way, here are ideas to help you come up with fun and fond memories.

  • Where did you meet him?
  • When did you meet your husband?
  • What were the first impressions really like?
  • What drew you both so close?
  • What has life been like for you since he came into your life?
  • What makes him a special person or man?
  • What funny memories do you remember about him?
  • What are his pet peeves? Just list them and see if you make it funny. Remember, not to touch on anything that might sound embarrassing.
  • What do you really want to say to him on his birthday?

Action Tip: Write answers to the above questions and go back to read the above example for inspiration. Then, just start spitting out whatever is in your head. Let your thoughts settle for a day or two and go back to work on it later on.

Now, let’s look at

How to End Your Birthday Message for Your Husband on a Bright Note

It’s not unusual for most speakers to start their speeches with so much enthusiasm only to end sluggishly.

That shouldn’t be the case, however. You have to start well and end well if you want to leave a favorable impression on the minds of the party goers.

How can you do that, now? Great question and I am happy you have asked that.

There are actually several ways to do that and I am happy to share a few tips with you.

First, you can end with a prayer if both of you are Christians or you are a religious couple.

Second, can you present a special gift to your man in the presence of his family and friends and tell everyone why are you gifting him that? You better do that and his birthday will be super fun, creative, and memorable.

And third, you can end on a very humorous note by rendering the ever popular birthday song in your style to make it sound funny.

Here you go:

Happy birthday to my sweet husband

Happy birthday to my sweet husband

I LOVE him more than he knows

I LOVE him more than he knows

I LOVE him more than he knows

How old are you now?

How old are you now?

How old are you now?

Response

I am 16 years old now

I am 16 years old now

I am 16 years old now

Who here can guess my age?

Ok, just switch 1 and 6

Ok, just switch 1 and 6

And you will know that I am an old man!

Can you scroll up and try to sing it to the tune of that happy birthday song? Just give it a try and you will enjoy every bit of it.

Birthday Message For Wife #1

Now, I would like to thank Reason and Meaning for this short but sweet but short 60th Birthday.

On September 12th, 1954 a little girl was born in south St. Louis. One little girl born in one hospital, in one city, on one planet, at one precise moment in the vastness of space and time. A miraculous occurrence that made the world better and more beautiful.

Simple words to describe what happened when Jane was born—goodness and beauty increased in the world.

But Jane didn’t keep this goodness and beauty to herself—she shared it by loving. Everyone who has ever touched or been touched by Jane has felt the warmth of her love.

The circle of her love and concern begins with family but extends to the whole world. If the world was full of people like her, how beautiful it would be. She is a shining star in a dark world, she is incorruptible, she is impossible not to love.

I don’t know if my love for my wife is important in the whole scheme of things. I don’t know if anything is. But I know that my life is richer and happier and less lonely and more joyful because of her.

And I know the world needs love because it makes life worth living. Meeting Jane long ago rendered the inevitable loneliness of life more than tolerable, it rendered life meaningful. What began as a glance has lasted a lifetime. I was blessed.

Still, my words are powerless to express my love. Maybe I can say it in a song.

Birthday Speech from Husband to Wife Example/Template # 2

Hello and welcome everybody. I want to thank you for being here today. Before I say a few words about my beautiful wife, I would like to thank you for helping us celebrate her 40th birthday.

We are so grateful that you took some time out of your busy week to join us here. Tonight wouldn't be nearly as amazing without you!

Martha, it is hard to find the right words to express how much you have  added to my life all these years…but that won't stop me from going on and on about you.

It's incredible to think that 5 years have since passed since I first met her. She was then 35 and now 40 years old.

Some of you always tell us that we look like Jake and Rose from the movie Titanic . That’s a nice compliment to say to a loving couple. But most of you were not at our wedding back then.

So, before I tell you how much my wife means to mean, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how we met and how we’ve come thus far if you don’t know our love story.

When Maggie and I met at a friend’s birthday party. It’s funny I have to share this at another birthday party.

I had just graduated college and was thinking about my next move in my life. So meeting a girl let alone talk about dating her wasn’t party of my goals….i couldn’t even see myself dating anyone anytime soon.

I didn’t even want to be at that party because I was consumed with stress. But I thought why not get there to see the bad, have a drink and meet some old friends.

Then this incredibly beautiful woman kept smiling at me. Eventually I walked over to her table and said “I’m sorry, I never approach women like this but I have not been able to take my eyes off you all night long. You have this aura, like a bright yellow sunbeam surrounding you. Do you mind if I sit beside you?”

That was how fast it was. It was not like getting to know a person; it was more like two souls recognizing each other and catching up for lost time.

The conversation came so easily, we were so wrapped up in our conversation that our friends started to feel left out. We talked for hours and hours and at the end of the night I asked for her number and I left feeling like my life had changed that night. No more stress, no more worries, you know what I am talking about guys!

The next day that feeling was confirmed. I wait to call her. I called her three times the next day. The first call was in the morning, another in the afternoon and the last call at night.

She was so caring and funny and as the calls became a regular part of our lives, it felt like she was going to be my dream woman.

We were inseparable after that. Yes, it was her amazing smile and charm that got me, but it was kind nature that stole my heart.

Her encouraging nature revived my hopes and she inspired me to find my first ever job.  The years have gone by so fast and I still see her smile everywhere I look. It’s taken on a special meaning tonight with her precious baby girl in her arms which is also another story for another day.

Maggie, you are a refreshing source of love and devotion to not only me, but all those who ever came into contact with.

What I like about her is her gift of singing. Whenever you are down, you can count on her to sing something inspiring. She could be next Celine Dion but she hates being in the public eye.

He also encouraged me in my writing. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but he is my muse. With her,  I wrote not only in my journal, but working toward writing something substantial. Maybe even a book. I also wrote poetry that he would use as lyrics for songs she would like to sing to our child when she grows older.

Maggie,  never in my life has anyone loved me the way you do. I feel like you were part of God’s plan to make me whole.

I feel like you are an angel that was sent down to make the world a better place and I always count myself blessed to have met you.

You have taught me so much about life. From you, I learned how to set goals and steps to work towards achieving them. You've shown me how to appreciate what we have and never take it for granted.

Most importantly, you have taught me to always put my confidence in God which is the best gift I have received from you.

Being your husband is an honor and I would never trade that experience for anything because I love you to the moon and back.

May your 40th birthday be as our wedding day and the birthday of our first child.  And may you grow in love and wisdom.

I can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. I am sure it would be bright because you make my life worthwhile.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses and do me the honor of joining me in a toast to the queen of my heart, Maggie.

I am sure you learned a thing or two from that short birthday toast example.  For your information, you can easily customize the above template to suit your own writing needs no matter how old your wife is.

Now, let’s dissect it so we can see how it’s all done.

Birthday wish or message from husband to wife

Simple Steps to Writing a Sweet Birthday Toast for Your Wife

A common mistake I see most speech givers make over and over again is when they just write what’s on their mind without first seeing what others have done in the past.

When this occurs, two things always occur.

First, they struggle to come up with good speeches and also come under a great deal of stress and anxiety.

I know that sometimes life gets in the way and if you are throwing the birthday party for her, your birthday toast might only take a back seat.

No matter how busy life gets , you can always depend on these for help: birthday speech examples (which is why I showed you an example earlier) and video examples about birthday toasts for your spouse.

Both serve complementary roles. While the former is for reference and inspirational purposes, the latter gives you a perfect idea of what to expect in such presentations.

To make things easier for you, I am going to share with you two videos I found online. Just watch and see if you can borrow ideas for your own message.

Here you go:

Birthday speech examples for wife video#1

Birthday speech templates for wife video#2

Now, was there anything you learned from watching those clips that you think you can work into yours?

Having touched all the bases, let’s now go back and re-look at the introductory remarks in that example.

‘’ Hello and welcome everybody. I want to thank you for being here today. Before I say a few words about my beautiful wife, I would like to thank you for helping us celebrate her 40th birthday. We are so grateful that you took some time out of your busy week to join us here. Tonight wouldn't be nearly as amazing without you! ‘’

This is an introduction you can simply write right without blinking an eye.

But you can go a step further by looking at it from a very creative angle because your opening address have to capture attention if you want your speech to be a massive hit with the party goers.

The following tips can give you an idea of how to start with a bang.

First, if you are looking forward to making an emotional birthday speech for your wife, then you can start off with any of these quotes.

  • “There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.” ― George Sand

  • Love isn’t something you find. Love is something that finds you.” ― Loretta Young

  • Where there is great love, there are always miracles.” ― W Sibert Cather

  • The taste of love is sweet, when hearts like ours meet.”― Johnny Cash

  • “I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien

I want to use the last quote by Tolkien (“I would rather share one lifetime with you than face all the ages of this world alone.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien) to clarify how that can be done.

Please watch me do it.

There is this song whose lyrics go like this: In life we all need someone to lean on. I have forgotten who the singer is and you can’t blame me because I am growing old.

Now, I get it because someone said one of the signs of growing old is when you forget simple things. I am 70 years old and now I get it. No wonder you guys call me Snow White! I love the cool nickname though!

Well, today is my not my day. We are here to celebrate the birthday of my side chick of the last 50 years. She’s none other than my own precious, beautiful bride, Angela!

Second, you can start with a joke or funny memories about your relationship or something funny that will not embarrass her if you are aiming for a funny birthday speech.

Third, if you have a good singing voice you can simply write a short poem about why you love her and set it to the beat of a well-known song and everyone will remember your wonderful  performance.

Fourth, you can make your delivery very unique by sharing things you love and admire about your life. For instance, you can start like this.

Hello family and friends. Thank you so much for coming to celebrate my wife’s birthday. For those of you don’t know me, I am Ben, Martha’s wife and I am proud to be her husband of the last 20 years.

We’ve been together for that long and on her 50th birthday, I would like her and you to know

20 ways she’s been a blessing in my life

Or

20 Ways She Makes Life worth living!

Or 20 Reasons Why I Love Her!

The body comes next since it’s a natural extension of the thoughts outlined in the introduction.

How then do you come up with ideas for the lines that follow the intro? That’s what the next chapter of this post is all about.

Birthday speech for my wife

How to Write the Content for Your Birthday Toast for Your Wife

As already mentioned, the ideas presented after your introduction should follow chronologically.

For example, if you mentioned at the onset of your speech that you were going to talk about ‘’ 20 Ways Your Wife Makes Life Count‘’ then you should do that within the framework of your essay.

Nonetheless, there are general rules or guidelines you have to follow when writing your birthday wishes.

First, you have to decide on the speech style you wish to use. Do you want to deliver an emotional, poetic or something narrative?

You see, no matter what kind of speech you intend to write, you should weave in a couple of stories since they are the heartbeat of great presentations.

Well, to come up with a couple of tales, you should do a little brainstorming which will help you come up with answers to questions like

  • Where and when did you meet your wife?

  • What drew her to your side?

  • What are her beautiful qualities?

  • What are some good stories you want the guests to know about?

  • What makes her a loving wife?

  • In what ways is she an amazing mother to your children?

  • Does she have any accomplishments you want the guests to know about? Once, I wrote a birthday speech for someone I consider a friend and she said her husband had a lifetime achievement award and wanted it included in her speech and it did work

Action Tip: Starting from the first question to the last, please write down as many memories you can remember. Afterwards, sieve those ideas and determine which ones you want to feature in there.

A word of advice: Your birthday shouldn’t be tooo long. It should be enough just to express your feelings to your wife.

Now, let’s see…

How You Can End Your Birthday Speech Toast on A Memorable Note

There are a couple of ways you can end well and I am happy to share a few thoughts with you.

First, if you or your spouse is a Christian, you can end with a bible verse or prayer.

The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24-26

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. Isaiah 46:4

May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. Psalm 20:4

Second, you can end with any of these birthday wishes from true love words.

  1. Happy Birthday to my lovely wife and the mother of our children. You make me happy and proud of the things we built together.

  2. As I sing happy birthday to you, it is you that puts the song in my heart and the music in my life. Happy Birthday my Love!

  3. Age is no enemy to you. Every year you become wiser and more sweet and beautiful! Happy birthday to the one year more beautiful wife!

  4. As you turn another page in the chapter of your life, never forget I feel so blessed to have you as my wife. Happy birthday!

  5. Happy birthday to a woman who is the best of everything: wife, mother, lover and friend. While we sing happy birthday to you, I want you to know that my love for you is true.

Third, you can make it light-hearted by singing a happy birthday song to your wife. You can go a step further by personalizing it with the names of her family and friends present at the event. Can we sing it together to the tune of the happy birthday song? ok...let's start.

Okay, let’s see how that can be done.

Happy birthday to you (replace you with her name)

Happy birthday to you (replace you with my sweetheart)

Happy birthday to my sweet heart

Happy birthday from your mom and dad

Happy birthday from all your 5 children

Happy birthday from your 60 grandchildren!

Did you see how I substituted a few words to make it funnier? You better practice it and sing it for your wife and she will laugh so loud until her ribs hurt.

Action Tip: Practice they say makes a man perfect. So, please start practicing it if you want to make it funny.

Fourth, if you have nothing to say at all, you can simply borrow Mark’s concluding remarks.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, please raise your glasses and do me the honor of joining me in a toast to the queen of my heart, Maggie.

Toast for my wife on her birthday
