Wedding Anniversary Speech For Parents(Mom And Dad)

Are You Looking For The Right Ideas, Words, Tips And Phrases To Help You Write A Unique, Heartfelt And Memorable Wedding Anniversary Speech For Your Parents(Mom and Dad?)

But, don’t really how to start or not too sure of how to come up with one easily and quickly?

Is This True?

Just walk down the streets and ask a few people what the best paid jobs are in the world, and no one will tell you that parenting is the best paying ''job''

But, I believe parenting is the most rewarding and fulfilling job ever.

You simply cannot pay your parents back for their endless love and priceless sacrifices even if you were the richest person on ear. Likewise, no amount of words can adequately tell your mom and dad how much you love.

However, when your parents ask you to give a speech at their wedding anniversary party, then you have to look for touching words to tell them and the invited guests how much you love and how they have helped make you a better person!

Nonetheless, finding those words is not an easy thing even for those of us who have spent many years writing great wedding speeches for people all over the world.

Well, I know you want to really want to show appreciation to your parents and I want to help you do that by walking you through an easy-to-follow, step-by-step process for getting the right words and ideas so you come up with an awesome speech.

Before we do that, I want you to get this.

This Is Why We Feel The Nerves….And How To Calm It Down… So You Express Yourself With Poise And Clarity!

I don’t know if you feel nervous right now, but there is a tendency that you will have butterflies in the knot of your stomach, and your heart will beat faster days prior to your parents wedding celebration, and that you do with those feelings will make you a better or worse speaker.

The thing is anytime, we are called to speak in public, and our minds relay to us information about past speaking opportunities we might have squandered or excelled in.

What you do with that little voice will undoubtedly influence how your performance will go. Unfortunately, most people choose to listen to that voice and get stuck either with writing down their ideas or speaking confidently in public.

That shouldn’t happen at all. Even if you failed to do so well in the past, you still have to hold this positive mental image in your mind of you speaking and you will be empowered from within.

As you might know, there are three key elements that come together when preparing great speeches.

  1. First, you need to brainstorm and come up with the right ideas
  2. Second, you need to put together those ideas you came up with in a coherent and logical manner
  1. Third, getting to rehearse your speech

  1. As well as delivering your speech

Right now, you are trying to come up with the right facts and believe it or not, it is not too easy if you don’t know where to start from.

That’s why I am here today to help you figure out how to easily do that like a pro!

At Last! A Pro Reveals Proven Steps-To-Follow To Come Up With Unique Ideas And Heartfelt Words!

I have been writing amazing speeches and sometimes family and friends ask me how I am able to come up with unique speeches despite the fact the contents shared by those seeking professional help are very similar.

Before my blue pen touches any clean sheet, I follow any of these steps:

How To Put Yourself In The Mood By Watching Videos

Which videos should I watch? I am not saying you need to watch a three-hour long movie or something longer just to get ideas.

What I mean is this. There are a lot of video sharing platforms or websites you can simply go and input your search term: wedding anniversary speech for mom and dad.

Next, grab a pen and paper and as you watch them, put down ideas, words and phrases you think you can use to make your speech unique.

Don’t limit yourself to videos by parents, you might do that for uncles, aunts, wives, husbands and it will bring the incredible ideas swimming inside your head to life.

Do You Know God Can Help You Out Too?

Wait…wait…wait a minute- I have a question for you!

Do you mean God will come down from heaven just to help me write my speech? No, he won’t waste his precious time coming to sit you down and teach you what to do.

So, how will HE do it?  God’s put everything you need to know in the scriptures?

The bible has so many wonderful passages and verses you can use to enrich your message and make it more memorable than you ever imagine.

Let’s see some of these bible verses.

Genesis 1:27-28: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them. And God said to them, 'Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.' "

Song of Solomon 8:6-7: “Set me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the LORD. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man offered for love all the wealth of his house, he would be utterly despised."

Ephesians 4:2-3: “With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Ecclesiastes 4:9: “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?"

one who loves another has fulfilled the law."

1 Corinthians 13:4-5: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."

Song of Solomon 4:9: “You have captivated my heart, my sister, my bride; you have captivated my heart with one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace."

Let me ask, can you use any of these scriptural quotes to write something to honor your parents?

Well …

Here’s A Very Short And Sweet Wedding Anniversary Speech Example For A Loving Parent!

One time, dad told me that he believed his marriage to my mom was destined by God.

Guess what, theirs wasn’t love at first sight. They both happened to be in the same class in grade 2 and during recess, mom would hold dad’s hand and go out to play with him.

Mom didn’t like playing with any those little girls and boys, but he found a friend in my dad and their teachers couldn’t understand all that was happening.

Come to think of it, they later got to the same middle school, high school and college even though their parents (my grandparents) lived in different parts of the country…

The years have come and gone and they have gone through their high and low moments…There were points in their lives when we the kids felt all hope was gone and lost and we wondered what our future would be like…but God came through for the family.

With the help of family and friends, their love for each other rekindled and for me, the greatest thing I have learned from them is that the greatest gift any parent can give their children is to show that they love each other even when it hurts!

Can you write something short and sweet like what I did? Did you notice, I just used the word ''love'' from the bible quotes up there to write my speech?

There’s nothing wrong lifting entire portions and making it yours, but just a single word can inspire you to make things work for you!

That’s not all… For quick and easy results...

Do You Want To Give Your Parents This Gift Of A Lifetime

Which is why, right now, I want to share with you how to put down your exact emotions and thoughts into something beautiful!

Before we begin, I just want you to know that although we are going to look at a sample of a 50th wedding anniversary speech sample, the lessons you will take away can help you to write your parents 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 60th, 70th, 80th …wedding anniversary speech.

So, please grab your note pad and a pen and come with me as we learn a thing or two from Rosalind’s golden wedding anniversary speech for her loving parents.

Do This If You Really Want Your Parents, Family and Friends To Compliment You!

First, let us look at her opening remarks or introduction. Please look over this carefully.

Here you go:

'' They say that you don't really appreciate your parents until you become one, but that is not true''

While I admit I probably never truly appreciated your cleaning up after me when I vomited all over myself, my bed sheets, my stuffed animals, and the rug, until I had to do this for my own sons (parenting has significantly elevated my threshold for "gross"), there is much more to say.

On this very special occasion of your 50th anniversary, I would like to share some ways that I have greatly appreciated both of you, and especially your staying married for half a century.''

In most of my writings, I liken the opening remarks of a great speech to watching a blockbuster movie whose opening scene draws you in.

To leave a favorable impression on your listeners, your opening lines should make the wedding guests want to listen to your story till the very end.

Unfortunately, many speakers don’t start on a brighter note. It’s so sad when people grab the mic and the next thing you hear is: I feel rather nervous to stand in front all of you…’’

Why would you say that when you have a few minutes to make your parents proud?

In the example above, Rosalind did a great job with her opening lines: ‘’ They say that you don't really appreciate your parents until you become one, but that is not true.’’

The good news is you too can do same even if you are not good at speaking in public yet you make to make the right impact.

By drawing inspiration from any of these ideas I will share even though there are a lot more I will reveal in another write-up.

Below are 5 Ways To Start Your Intro…What’s Your Pick?

There are more than a dozen ways to begin your speech and I want to share with you just five of them!

The best part is I will also show you how you can use one of those ideas to write what’s on your mind easily.

Let’s dive right in!

  • You can simply start on a humorous note. But make sure you know how to do that so things don’t back fire

 You may go for:

  1. Funny memories or anecdotes you remember when you were under their roof or anything they did or said that you find so amusing.
  2. Jokes or one-liners can help. Below are some quotes you can

Here are a couple you can use:

-By all means marry. If you get a good wife, you’ll become happy. If you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.
- Socrates

- "I love being married. It's so great to find one special person you want to annoy for the rest of your life"---Rita Rudner

- "Love is a lot like a backache; It doesn't show up on X-Rays, But you know it's there."---George Burns

"A good marriage would be between a blind wife and a deaf husband."---Michel De Montaigne

--- My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me. Winston Churchill

That’s not all, you can also use love or marriage quotes.

Here are some of them

-Some relationships are like Tom and Jerry, they argue and disagree all the time, but they still can't live without each other. ---Unknown

-Some people walk into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts. Others walk into our lives and we want to leave footprints on their face! ---Auliq Ice

-"Being a good husband is like being a stand-up comic. You need 10 years before you can call yourself a beginner." — Jerry Seinfeld

I promised to show you how to write something short and sweet, so let’s use these quotes

Some relationships are like Tom and Jerry, they argue and disagree all the time, but they still can't live without each other---Unknown

My most brilliant achievement was my ability to be able to persuade my wife to marry me-- Winston Churchill…

to come up with something witty and fun!

This is what I have for you.

Here’s A Funny Wedding Anniversary Speech Just For Your Parents

Dad once told me that it took him almost 6 months before mom agreed to be his wife.

Well, when he said that I thought he was only joking

I too underwent a similar ordeal

Guess what? I had to chase her for almost 4 months before she gave her approval as she wasn’t so sure if I was the one for her.

Looking back, I think dad’s most brilliant achievement was his ability to persuade my mom to marry him and I think his sense of perseverance is the best legacy he bequeathed to me because it helped me win Mary, the love of my life.

Though they have impacted my life so much, there’s this thing I also learned from them while growing up.You see, mom‘s like Tom and dad’s like Jerry. They often argued and disagreed all the time with mom being the victor.

I only knew why dad allowed mom to have her way when he sat me down to advise me before I got married and I remember dad telling me that Mike, if you want to bring peace to your home, then you have to pretend to be deaf and mute.

If not, then pray you get married to a blind wife. Looking back, dad’s decision to become a deaf and mute husband really helped him. He didn’t sweat the small stuff and that was what made their marriage work!

I hope you noticed how we use both quotes to write those underlined words and the entire example?

Can you do that too? I am sure you can.

Sorry, but I forgot to tell you this: your name and your relationship to the couple (son or daughter) and greetings, and ‘’thank yous’’ should form part of your intro.

  1. You can jump straight into the ‘’ring’’ and tell everyone what you think has kept your parents going for 50 years in marriage.
  1. You can even start with a quote about the secrets of successful marriages and work something from that angle.

Right now, I want us to continue with our wedding or marriage anniversary  speech sample as we have a lot to learn.

Please read the rest of Rosalind’s speech very carefully: '' While most children appreciate their parents for giving them biological life, I don't know to whom I owe that.

And while everything for which I am grateful is ultimately conditional upon the decision a teenage woman made,

I was an "accident", "unplanned", and my gratitude is that she believed that somewhere out there was somebody like you, with whom I would be so much better off.

The fact is you are the kind of couple whom so many love, the kind who inspires others with your friendly welcome, generosity, and kindness to all.''

Your regular acts of goodness change the mood of those around you: they turn road-raged insensitive maniacs into the kind of drivers who not only let you merge in front of them without ramming you in the rear, but who stopped on the road to give you a helping hand and a smile when in need.

You are a couple who has a positive impact on the world, and this impact has the power to counter the despair of a young women in trouble, helping her know that it is worth choosing life for her little one, because of incredibly loving parents like you.''

Please go back and read it again. I hope you have done just that.

Did you notice how the ideas flow in a logical order?

That’s the pattern the body of your speech should follow as it’s the extension of the opening lines of our golden anniversary wedding speech sample.

I know you might be wondering how you are going to compose the body of your speech just as this great writer has done.

You don’t have to worry about that because…

Here Are 12 Pointers To Help You Come Up With Great Ideas For Your Body Without Pulling Out Your Hair!

First, get a pen and paper and ask yourself these questions

  1. How was life with mom and dad growing up?
  2. What were their dreams for you?
  3. What have they been through? Share the good times and bad as that will not only touch hearts but inspire the guests!
  4. You can simply express thanks to your parents and say why you love them.
  5. You can also comment about their contribution to the welfare of family and friends.
  6. You can talk about how their shared interests and goals have brought them thus far.
  7. You can even tell the wedding guests how they helped you walk on troubled waters when you faced difficulties in your own marriage just as our example taught us.
  8. You can talk about the qualities your own dad brought into the relationship, that of your mom as well and how the couple blended so well despite their seeming differences.
  9. You can share funny tales or memories to get everyone laughing and then write about the lessons learned.
  1. How do your parents inspire you? Do you see how Rosalind does that here:

''Mom and Dad, your honesty, integrity, love, patience, gentleness, kindness, commitment, and willingness to forgive shine as a strong inspiration to me to strive for the same in my marriage.

You have been blessed with the fortitude and faith to stay together, despite a multitude of forces that aim to pull a couple apart. The example of your marriage reveals something much greater than any individual can ever attain….''

Just write down your answers to all of these questions.First, put down the highlights and then paragraphs to support each point raised.

Do This Next And Everything Will Fall Into Its Rightful Place

Just write down your thoughts without worrying about the flow since you can always go back to edit it over and over again.

You Can Get Heartwarming Compliments And Your Parents Will   Be So Proud Of You If You Follow This Simple Plan

A perfect closing might make good use of the following ideas

  1. Thanking your parents or their love over the years and how that has made you a much better person.

Just listen to what Rosalind said: An example being: '' On this very special occasion of your 50th wedding anniversary, with a heart of deepest gratitude,

I give you my honor, appreciation, admiration, and love.  May God continue to bless your marriage, and may you enjoy your celebration on April 16, and throughout this Golden Year.   I love you Rosalind ''

  1. You can say what your best wishes are for them as seen below

-All things grow with love, and nothing more so than your beautiful relationship. Love you Mom and Dad.

-You make this whole marriage thing look easy. May you continue to grow in your love for each other. Happy Anniversary from all of your children.

-With every passing year, you’re the living embodiment of a great marriage, mother and father. Happy Anniversary from your son or daughter!

-Your love, dedication, and commitment to one another is truly an inspiration to all of us kids.

-You are the parents that all kids hope to have, you are the couple that all lovers hope to be and you both are the pillars of support that every family wishes it had. Happy anniversary to the best parents ever.

-Your togetherness in good and bad times has taught us teamwork. Your tolerance for each other’s habits has taught us patience. Your support during each other’s crises has taught us solidarity. Your lives as our parents have taught us how to live. Happy anniversary

-Dear mom and dad, thanks for all the patience and sacrifice in keeping the family together. I am the luckiest not to experience the pain of a divorced family because you have both worked so hard to keep the marriage.

-Our family owes its happiness to the strong bond you both share. Happy anniversary!

-Because of you both, the world knows that truth and love exist. Keep these beliefs alive and cherish one another. Happy anniversary, mom and dad!

-Mom and dad, I could not have asked for better parents growing up. And I could not have asked for a better model of a healthy marriage than you two. Thank you for providing that for me. I wish you two a happy anniversary!

  1. You can end with a blessing from the scriptures. My favorite is Psalm 128

Psalm 128

             A song of ascents.

  1. Blessed are all who fear the Lord,
who walk in obedience to him.
    You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
        within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
        around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
for the man who fears the Lord.
  2. May the Lord bless you from Zion;
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children’s children—
        peace be on Israel.

Lamentations 3:22–23

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
His mercies never come to an end;
They are new every morning;
Great is your faithfulness.

Philippians 4:6

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

I love examples and here once again is a short speech based on the bible verses above:

Mom and dad, you have taught us that the greatest gift to give each other is love. It looks like you have come to the end of the road as you have being together for close to 50 years, but it feels like you have just started your journey. I know there are still many rivers to cross.

But, God has promised to see you through all trials and afflictions as his steadfast love never cease and they are new every morning. This is the start of your '' morning'' as the dawn is come and gone. I hope and pray that your love grows deeper everyday.

Don’t you think this message can be used for your closing remarks?

  1. Compliment them sincerely and wish them well in the years ahead.
  2. You can close your eyes and say a prayer for your parent

An example: Oh Lord, give my parents the heart to still love and serve you, so their love for each other grows beyond time.

Let them become like a shining city set on a hill and may nothing that seeks to threaten their peace, joy or sense of purpose succeed today, tomorrow and forever in Jesus name!

I hope you have a fair idea of how to use this speech sample to write yours.

It will be a great idea to read this piece once again, and put down on paper, ideas and insights, you think you can use to write your own speech for your mom and dad as you review it over and over again!
