Confirmation Gift Ideas: How To Get The Best And Unique Confirmation Gifts

Why This Is The Best Confirmation Gift Ever!

Do you know the confirmation gift you want to give you your teen boy or girl is not the best present ever?

Here’s what you should go for instead!

I know you are looking for a wonderful gift that will deepen the confirmand’s sense his loyalty to the Lord Jesus Christ but I feel the best present you can give him or her is this story.

At some point in our lives, we often wonder why we have to go through certain things we don’t like.

Your Pain Might Make You Better Or Bitter!

But, God in his own wisdom has a way of using what we see as pain to sharpen our lives for the better and make us living testimonies so that all men are drawn close to him.

Was This Love At First Sight?

I am saying this because there was this couple who married very young.

They met and fell in love when they were teenagers and got married when they were both 20 years old.

They dreamed of being in love forever with two wonderful children- a boy and a girl and love each other just as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it.

But their dreams were not immediately realized.

14 years after they got married, they had no kids and that brought real stress but they never gave up on God.

At Last! The Couple Got What They Wanted

After 18 years in marriage, they had their first child-a cute baby girl!

They made good on their promise and dedicated the little baby to the Lord and had her baptized.

They gave her all their love and attention since they believed every child is a loan from God.

Their Only Child Goes Stray After Been Confirmed

When she was a teenager, she got confirmed while she was in high school.

After graduating High School, she went off to college. While there, her faith in the Lord grew, and the beautiful thing is that she made very good grades.

However, things got worse when she met Abigail. Abigail found out that there was no way she could convince Mary to be a prostitute so she pretended to be a fellow-believer.

Mary Falls Into A Horrible Ditch

Before Mary knew it, she had lost her faith, and fell into prostitution.

Worse of all; both parents lost their jobs.

Things got worse for her family that she left home for good and that keep her parents up in the middle of the night.

Will Things Get Any Better?

For more than 10 years, all she did was to offer her body to different men and sometimes women from coast to coast!

One day, she fell grievously sick and was taken to hospital where she was admitted for more than 2 years!

God Restores Her Life Fully!

Mary thought she had left the ways of God and God was no longer there for her. In her crisis, she felt all alone.

With her condition getting worse day by day, all she had to do was to pray and the only words that were on her lips on that winter night: Lord save me if you still love me!

Moments later, she noticed positive changes in her body and her recovery came as a shock to her doctors who had just given up on her and thought Mary wouldn’t make it past 3 months!

Her Mom Cries Like A Baby As She Returns Home

Mary got back on her feet and like the prodigal son, she felt she had had enough of her dirty old ways and wanted to go back to her parents.

On learning that her mom and dad had moved to the East Coast, she found her way there. Her parents were having dinner when they heard someone knock on the door repeatedly.

They wondered who that person might be because no one had ever come in after sunset. Her mom came out first but could hardly recognize her beloved daughter because she had changed so much.

All Jennifer did was to hug her daughter, weep and then said in a sad voice: Lord thank you for my daughter’s life!

Have You Fulfilled Your Vows To Him?

You see, God expects us to fulfill all our vows as it’s recorded in

Ecclesiastics 5: 4

By getting your son or daughter or even your godchild baptized and seeing to it that he or she is about to take part in the sacrament of confirmation shows you honor the Lord because you have kept our vows to train up your child in the way he or she should go so that when he or she’s older she won’t depart from it.

However, you need to do more to help the confirmand stay on the right track after all has been said and done.

Why This Is The Best Confirmation Speech You Can Ever Give!

The bible is for sure the best confirmation gift you can ever give to your son or daughter or or godchild or nephew or niece because all other gifts you give will eventually outlive their usefulness but the written word of God really molds the heart of man.

But did you know that letters can help make the life of the communicant much better?

How?

You see, whenever it’s time for confirmation, most parents and even godparents as well as uncles and aunts and friends and relatives are expected to write letters or speeches that will later serve as ‘’spiritual keepsake’’ or a ‘’life chronicle’’ that will guide the person in his or her walk with the Lord!

That’s something you definitely have to come up with as I believe it’s the second best confirmation gift after the bible!

If you ever got one, then you know how impactful those letters or speeches have been in your life.

Do you remember the time you felt so down and you took solace in one of those pieces your parents, godparents or sponsor wrote you?

It stands then to reason that you have to come up with a unique and soul-stirring piece for your child or nephew or niece or even your god-child!

Go Get Any of These Best Gifts Now…And The Confirmand Will Be So Happy

Here are very brief examples written by dads, moms, nieces, nephews and even godparents in that order!

By parents

By godparents

By Sponsor

By Uncle Or Aunt To Nephew Or Nieces

Let me ask you once again: Can you really craft a short beautiful letters like any of those I have shown you above?

Yes, you can. Wondering how to do just that?

At Standing Ovation Speeches, we help

Confirmation Speech or Letter From Mom or Dad (Parents) to Son or Daughter

Do you also think this is a perfect confirmation letter or speech every mom or dad should give to their son or daughter?

Have You Given Your Child The Best Gift Ever!

I know you love your son or daughter!

You have invested so much money and resources in your children’s education and you’re also doing everything you can to make sure they live a more meaningful and fulfilling lives!

But, do you know that the greatest legacy you can ever give your children is sound character and faith?

Back when I was a teenager, my mom always told us never to leave home without first saying a prayer and this practice has stayed with till now.

The scripture tells us in Proverbs 22:6 that we should train up our kids in the way they should and when they grow older they will not depart from it.

Again, scripture tells us that if anyone doesn’t provide for his family, he has denied his faith and is worse than a nonbeliever (1 Timothy 5:8)

As a godly dad or mom, one thing is require of you most and that has to do with how you instruct and train your kids in the ways of the Lord.

Charity they say begins at home and so if your child is taking part in the sacrament of confirmation, you have to do your very best to ensure that they really understand this religious rite is all about.

As your son or daughter goes through his or her confirmation, you might be asked to put together a letter or speech to help build him up in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ and also guide him every step of the way.

Granted, I know for sure that writing a beautiful letter or speech can be a tough nut to crack and that’s why I am here this evening to help you craft a godly-inspired piece with great ease.

As we do that, I will try as much as possible to give clear examples to support points and ideas raised to make things fairly easy.

The first thing you have to do is...

To Have A Tête-à-Tête With God

I have been writing speeches for clients all over the world and there’s never a day I don’t say a prayer before I write. Small wonder, I always come up with great and unique ideas.

You also have to do same as God is the source of all knowledge and understanding. It doesn’t matter if you screwed up sometime past giving a speech. All you have to do at this moment is to believe as you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.

Bear in mind that as a man thinks so he is (Proverbs 23:7) so just believe you can and the Holy Spirit will nourish your mind with fine ideas and insights.

The second thing you have to do is…

To Get In Tune With The Melodies Of Heaven

I know you might be wondering HOW you are going to get in tune with heavenly melodies.

By listening to heavenly-inspired tunes like Here I am Lord, you can be inspired to come up with something beyond the ordinary.

Well, here are the lyrics of the song: Here I am Lord and then an example of a short and sweet letter or speech based on the lyrics.

You may hit the play button first to get a feel of the rhythm.

Now, the lyrics of the beautiful song you just listened to. Please look it over once again:

I, the Lord of sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry.

All who dwell in dark and sin,
My hand will save.
I who made the stars of night,
I will make their darkness bright.
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?

Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of snow and rain,
I have born my peoples pain.
I have wept for love of them, they turn away.

I will break their hearts of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone.
I will speak my word to them,

Whom shall I send?

Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame.
I will set a feast for them,

My hand will save
Finest bread I will provide,
Till their hearts be satisfied.
I will give My life to them,
Whom shall I send?

Here I am Lord, Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

Now, let us see how we can use some of the lyrics to write a short confirmation letter to your son or daughter

My dear son/daughter,

Even before you came into our life, we loved you but God loved you more and our dream was to see you grow to love God beyond all else.

We knew that, if you learned to do this, you will grow up becoming an ambassador of Christ right here on earth.

I remember when we both had our confirmations here in this church, we felt the presence of the Holy Spirit so strong and it was though God telling us that from today…you are to tell the world about the saving power of Jesus.

You know the Lord bore the pain of people on the cross and he’s looking for persons who will spread the word so he will break the hearts of stone of all non-believers and give them a heart to love alone

Are you ready to embark on that beautiful calling? The Lord is counting on you because you have received the gift of the Holy Spirit….

Do you realize how we used the following words?

-I have born my peoples pain.

-I will break their hearts of stone,

-Give them hearts for love alone…

To write this: You know the Lord bore the pain of people on the cross and he’s looking for persons who will spread the word so he will break the hearts of stone of all non-believers and give them a heart to love alone.

You better go up and read the entire points to get a clear understanding of how I did just that.

Other songs you can use include

  1. Make me a channel of your peace
  1. Amazing Grace How Sweet The Sound
  1. How Sweet The Name Of Jesus Sounds
  1. When Peace Like A River
  1. A Charge to Keep I Have

There are other wonderful tunes you can use, so just go for your Catholic, Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran hymnbooks and look for some others.

The third thing you have to do is…

To Consult Poetry

Got any poem in mind? Let me help you out here. Poems on the theme of church confirmation, holiness, trusting in the Lord, poems about blessings, and so on can help you out.

Just look up an example in the search engines and feel free to borrow a few lines to write your piece just as I showed you in the above example.

The fourth thing you have to do is…

Go See This Best-Selling Book Ever

As you know, The Bible is the perfect place to get inspired ideas and themes for writing a confirmation letter or speech for your child.

I guess you read it daily. If so, do you walk in the light of God’s word? And are you experiencing the blessings and mercies of God as a result of being obedient to our heavenly father?

If you don’t read the bible that much, you better start as contains clear instructions for a victorious living over the power of sin and life’s challenges.

That said; let us look at some bible verses you can use to help you say what’s on your heart.

-Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

-Ephesians 6:1 - Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.

-Psalms 127:3 - Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

-Deutronomy 6: 1-3

  1. Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgements, which the Lord your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
  2.  That though mightest fear the Lord thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which i commanded thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged

Isaiah 66:13

-As a mother comforts her child, so I will comfort you...

Now, Here’s Our Short Example Based On The Bible Verse:

Psalms 127:3 - Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.

Let’s dive right in:

We have always believed that children are a heritage of the Lord just as scripture rightly states.

And so, when you came into our lives, we just didn’t see you as our son or daughter, we saw you as one of God’s best gift to us to love, support and mold you into a man/woman after his own heart.

Doing that required that we raise you so well and equip you with everything you will ever need so you don’t stray from the paths that’s true and secured.

Now, you’re all grown up and we are filled with so much joy that you have kept the faith and you are right here before your maker making a solemn promise to serve him all the days of your life…

The fifth thing you can do is

Just Answer These Eight(8) Questions And Your Ideas Will Flow In No Time!

Sit down a moment with a note pad and paper handy and ask yourself these questions.

  1. What happened prior to the day?
  1. How was my confirmation day like?
  1. Do I still have any or all of those letters I got from my sponsor or mentor, parents (mom and dad), grandparents, friends, and well-wishers?
  2. What were the stumbling blocks every step of the way?
  3. If so, how did I overcome all those trials?
  4. How did my participation in that sacrament guide your whole life from that moment on?
  1. Can you share some ups and down moments in your walk of faith?
  2. If so, what did you do back when you felt as though ''God was on vacation?''

Next, put down your answers and back them up with stories in well-developed paragraphs. Now, this is what you have to do afterwards.

Go over your work paragraph by paragraph and see contents you feel you don’t want to include and get rid of them and leave others intact.

Keep on doing that till you are completely happy with how your ideas follow in a clear and consistent manner.

By telling your journey in the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ using personal anecdotes, it will give your son or daughter a sense of hope and purpose when he or she goes through life and also make them believe that Jesus will be there for him or her no matter how hard the storms of life blows.

Do You Think This Is The Best Sample You’re Looking For?

Let’s see how Susan Baxter of  did that in The National Catholic Register some time ago.

Don’t worry if you’re not a catholic, you can still make the best out of it since all believe in one true God and Jesus Christ, our savior.

Here are excerpts

I have prayed, throughout your life, even before you were conceived, that you would grow to love God beyond all else. I knew that, if you learned to do this, all I hope for you would follow.

Now that you are a young woman in the last days before the Easter Sunday on which you will be anointed by a bishop of the Church,

I want to tell you what it means to me to be a member of the Body of Christ. It is my heartfelt hope that my experience of growing in love for God will help you with yours.

Before there was confirmation, before Communion, before kindergarten and siblings and my high chair and crib, there was, in my life, a presence.

It loved me, held me, rocked me, and permeated the air around me.

It was there all the time, telling me: I made you. I delight in you. I see you always. You are my little love. I will never leave you.

I am blessed — your grandma says cursed — with a crisp memory. I remember riding my tricycle on hard-wood floors while my mother knitted on snowy days.

I remember my first encounter with my closest sister, your aunt, who's three years younger. I remember…

But, my dear daughter, someone else was near as well. In church, I learned his name. I saw that other people knew about him, too, and that made them family.

And, as we learned the Catechism, I realized the only people who could really understand this conversation I was having with God …

When the sisters taught us to sing… I felt I had a first-hand understanding of the words. This unseen other was my best friend.

Without him, life would have been unbearable.

For my confirmation instruction, I, like you, had lay teachers. …

We practiced answering the questions of the mysterious man we'd meet that night, the bishop.

We practiced being anointed. We practiced being slapped in the face and told, “Peace be with you.” (Our accepting the slap, we were told, was a sign of our openness to persecution and even martyrdom on behalf of Jesus.)

And we practiced singing, “Come Holy Ghost, Creator blest, and in our hearts take up thy rest …”

Years later, when your grandfather died, I sat in a chapel wondering if the gash in my heart would ever heal. I was so sad I couldn't pray. I sat, for an hour every day, for many months, before the Blessed Sacrament.

I mean, I just sat there. I didn't ask anything. I didn't do anything.

Finally, one day, a mini-miracle: I felt my way through the grief.

And on the other side of my self-pity over…

Dear daughter, you who have taken Elizabeth Ann Seton as your model, you who have chosen as your sponsor my sister (who has long since forgiven me for bonking her head with a bottle): I want you to know I am praying for you. I pray that your confirmation will mark a time in your life when heaven opened for you, and God declared to all the world:

“This is my beloved child, upon whom I delight. Nothing she ever does will make me love her any less than I do at this moment, which is higher and deeper and wider than she will ever understand.

And there is nothing she can do to make me love her more. To receive this love, she need not ask. All she ever need do is pull up the covers, be still and wait — and know that I am God.”

I guess, you can pick some of the words of this short example and then use it to write something memorable right? Just follow what I did for the others.

The sixth thing you can do is

To Obtain Wisdom from Some Of These Wise People

Quotes from the lips or minds of wise men and women can form the backbone of your speech and below are a few examples you can use to enrich your message.

  1. “In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit.”— St. Paul
  1. “Remember, then, that you received a spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear.Keep safe what you received. God the Father sealed you, Christ the Lord strengthened you and sent the Spirit into your hearts as the pledge of what is to come.”— St. Ambrose
  1. “I wish not merely to be called Christian, but also to be Christian.”— St. Ignatius of Antioch
  1. “It is better to be a child of God than king of the whole world.”— St. Aloysius Gonzaga
  1. “But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us, by putting his seal on us and giving us his Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.” — St. Paul

I have tried as much as possible to show you how to use such comments to write your own ideas and I guess you wouldn’t have any problem doing that with the above quotations.

Finally, the best and easiest thing you might want to do is to…

Consult Free Confirmation Speech Samples For Your Son Or Daughter.

You know, most people spend countless hours trying to come up with what they have to say.

But that shouldn’t happen if you get some really good confirmation speech examples.

But the downside is that most of those examples are in other people’s voice so just have to make sure you change a few things here and there to make it yours.

They come in handy when you are really struggling with how to begin or you just can’t find the right words for your letter.

Below is a very short example. Just look it over and see this if you can make something out of it.

Joshua,

The sacrament of confirmation completes the sacrament of baptism.

If baptism is the sacrament of re-birth to a new and supernatural life, confirmation is the sacrament of maturity and coming of age….

The poor-spirited man is only able, when he has been confirmed and lives by God’s grace.

This confirmation in the power of the Holy Spirit that has led you to the profession of your faith today…

May God guide you to where there is sun and warmth, but make sure you remember rain and cold, so you appreciate all that is good in life…

May he help you be an adult who is strong and proud, but help you keep the child within who tells jokes, plays video games, listens to music and has fun with his family and friends.

May God watch over you when you make mistakes, and help you to understand that perfection is not your goal, only who you love and relate to along your journey. Now that you are too old

Now, it’s your turn to personalize what John wrote to his son, Joshua.

I am sure you can because I have given you everything you need to come with a touching message.

By the way, here are some take home points from the John’s letter to his wonderful boy…

  1. Notice how the writer connected his son’s baptism to his confirmation?
  1. Then, he reiterates the essence of the confirmation
  1. To end it all, he says a prayer for his son and that’s something you should do too…probably prayer and well wishes will be an idea way to end your notes.

Confirmation Letter or Speech For Nephew Or Niece

Do You Want To Write A Unique, Hearfelt And Heavenly-Inspired Confirmation Letter Or Speech To Your Nephew or Niece?

Not too how to start or wondering if you are on the right track?

Just follow the ides and tips here and you will be seconds away from doing so quickly and easily!

Isn’t God so good?

You’ll agree with me that the mercies and blessings of God never ceases because they are new every morning.

That explains why every now and then, you have to count your blessings and name them one by one as doing that daily will not only strengthen your faith but remind you of the faithfulness of God.

Joshua did just that when he gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and called for the elders of Isreal, their heads, their judges, their officers and presented themselves before the almighty God! (Joshua 24)

After speaking at length about God’s blessings to their ancestors and how he defended them, he implored the people to fear God and serve him in sincerity and truth.

He goes on to tell them that they have to choose whom they will serve: the God of heaven or foreign as he and his household will serve Jehovah God almighty.

His admonition brings to mind what the scripture says concerning raising and training up children in the way of the Lord so they don’t depart from it when they grow older.(Proverbs 22:6)

You see, God sees us as his children and he expects you to see and treat every child as one of your own and that includes your nephew or niece. If you are doing just that then God will be well pleased with you.

By the way, since you want to make sure your nephew or niece grows up into a person of faith, I know for sure you are helping prepare him or her in your own way for sacrament of confirmation.

Is This The Best Confirmation Gift Ever?

One of the best ways is ensuring your nephew or niece stays rooted in the faith is by writing a divinely-inspired letter to him or her when he or she is at the confirmation retreat or give a beautiful speech at their confirmation party.

To do that you have to come up with good ideas to help you say what’s on your heart.

But, as you are well aware, the right words for your letter or speech is hard to find.

The good news is that I want to help you get the right words easily and quickly as I have been helping people to write and give speeches for some time and I do know for sure what goes into writing such letters or speeches.

Guess what?

The first thing you have to do if you want to come up with something great is

To Talk To Your Best Friend About Your Confirmation Letter or Speech For Your Niece Or Nephew!

The Holy Spirit is your greatest source of inspiration because he’s the source of all wisdom and knowledge and I am simply amazed why so many people don’t talk to him when they have worries.

There is no way I write any speech or letter without asking him to help me out and he does that beautifully at all times.

So, it doesn’t matter if you feel you are a writer or not, just go on your knees right now and invite him over and he will be right there to make your work so much easier!

Invite him to be your guide and helper every step of the way, and he will never let you down!

The second thing you have to do if you want to come up with something great is...

To Listen To Heaven’s Sweet Melodies

What I mean is that you should listen to heavenly-centered and use the lyrics to put down whatever is on your heart.

Let’s see a few of these songs and then look at how we can use the lyrics to write a short and very inspiring piece.

  1. Make me a channel of your peace
  2. Amazing Grace How Sweet The Sound
  3. How Sweet The Name Of Jesus Sounds
  4. When Peace Like A River
  5. A Charge to Keep I Have
  6. Be Still And Know that I am God
  7. Christ Be With Me
  8. Fight the Good Fight
  9. My God Accept My Heart This Day
  10. Take My Life And Let It Be
  11. The Lord's Shepherd

Now, let’s use the lyrics of the songs: Take my life and let it as well as Fight the Good Fight of Faith to pen down something!

Take my life and let it be
Consecrated, Lord, to Thee

Take my moments and my days
Let them flow in ceaseless praise

Take my hands and let them move
At the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee

Take my voice and let me sing always, only, for my King
Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee

Take my silver and my gold, not a mite would I withhold
Take my intellect and use every power as
It's all you now - spoken

Fight the good fight with all thy might.
Christ is thy strength and Christ thy right.
Lay hold on life, and it shall be
thy joy and crown eternally.

Run the straight race through God's good grace;
lift up thine eyes, and seek Christ's face.
Life with its way before us lies;
Christ is the path, and Christ the prize.

Now, Here’s A Short Example Based on the Words of That Song.

Janet, God has always had his own plan for you right from the time you were born.

This is because when you were born, we came very excited and I remember Eleanor placing you in the crib.

There and then, granny’s bible fell onto the floor and when I bend down to pick it off the floor, I saw the bible had on its own opened to the book of Jeremiah 29:11 which reads: I know the plans I have for you. Plans to bring you to an expected end

It was as if God was telling me that you were such a special child and he would be looking out for you every step of the way.

Over the years, we have seen you grow into a very beautiful and our prayer has always been that you live a life fully consecrated to God.

Today, we heard you express your desire to serve God all the days of your life even as the priest prayed for you so you could be well-quipped by the Holy Spirit to fight the good fight of faith….

Did you notice how we used the underlined words: fully consecrated to God…Holy Spirit to fight the good fight of faith

Well, the third thing you have to do if you want to come up with some encouraging words is...

To Look Over A Few Poems

Poems on the theme of church confirmation, Holy Spirit, holiness, trusting in the Lord, long suffering, blessings and steadfast can really help you out.

All you have to do is to go find such poems in the search engines and then borrow a few lines to help you write your confirmation letter or speech for your niece or nephew.

The fourth thing you have to do if you want to come up with some inspiring words is...

To Go Get The Best Book Ever!

The bible has virtually everything you need to help you express your exact thought and emotions.

Let me ask you this, do you study it daily? If so, what lessons do you learn from studying God’s word? And do you apply those lessons learned to your own life?

Any changes in your life as a result of walking in the light of God’s word?

Just as you know, every scripture is inspired by God and it is useful for rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so you need to get key verses from it that will not only inspire your nephew or niece every step of the way, but also his daily walk of love with his maker.

By the way, Here are some verses you can use:

I Timothy 6:12

Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Philippians 3:12-14

12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Phillipians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Psalm 119:11 King James Version

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Romans 5:3-5

3. Not only that, but we rejoice in our suffereings, knowing that sufferung produces endurance

4. and endurances produces character, and character produces hope,

5. and hope does not put to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Do you think any of those verses can help us come up with something meaningful?  I think so!

Well, can you give it a try? If you can’t, then I will help you out

once again.

By the way, let’s use the following verse to come up with what’s on my mind.

I Timothy 6:12 Fight the good fight of faith.

Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Here we go:

Michele, the beauty about your confirmation is that God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to you and us all.

What that means is that, from this moment on, you have to fight a good fight of faith.

Scripture tells us that by putting on the whole armor of God you can stand against all the tricks of the devil.

As you walk with the Lord, you will go through valleys of despair and hopelessness sometimes and that might make you wonder if God is still there for you.

You know what? God sometimes allow these things to come into your lives so he can test your faithfulness.

So, whenever, you feel downhearted, just know that God is still closer than anyone will.

With that in mind, your faith will be renewed and you will press on toward your heavenly goal of making more disciples for Christ Jesus!

I hope you noticed how we used the underlined words:… you have to fight a good fight of faith to construct that short example!

The fifth thing you have to do if you want to come up with some inspiring words is...

Just Answer These 7 Questions And Your Ideas Will Flow In No Time!

Sit down a moment with a note pad and paper handy and ask yourself these questions.

  1. How was my confirmation day like?
  2. How was the preparation like?
  3. Do I still have any of those letters you got from your sponsor or mentor, parents (mom and dad), friends, and well-wishers?
  4. Did I experience any set-back?
  5. If so, how did you overcome all those challenges?
  6. How did your participation in that sacrament guide your whole life from that moment on?

Next, put down your answers and back them up with stories in well-developed paragraphs.

Now, this is what you have to do afterwards. Go over your work paragraph by paragraph and see ideas you want to get rid of and those you don’t want to touch.

Keep on doing that till you are completely happy with how you have developed your points.

By telling your journey in the faith using personal anecdotes, it will give the communicant a sense of hope and purpose when he or she goes through life and he or she can make it through no matter what life throws at him or her.

The sixth thing you have to do if you want to come up with some inspiring words is...

To Pick The Brain Of These Sage

Most folks prefer to use quotes from the lips or minds of some of these wise men and women!

Not only will they make your piece witty, but they can be used for the body of your confirmation letter or speech to your niece or nephew.

Below are a few examples you can use to enrich your message:

  1. “In him you also, when you had heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and had believed in him, were marked with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit.” — St. Paul
  2. “Remember, then, that you received a spiritual seal, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of knowledge and reverence, the spirit of holy fear. Keep safe what you received. God the Father sealed you, Christ the Lord strengthened you and sent the Spirit into your hearts as the pledge of what is to come.— St. Ambrose
  1. “I wish not merely to be called Christian, but also to be Christian.”— St. Ignatius of Antioch
  1. “It is better to be a child of God than king of the whole world.”— St. Aloysius Gonzaga
  1. “But it is God who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us, by putting his seal on us and giving us his Spirit in our hearts as a first installment.”— St. Paul

I have tried as much as possible to show you how to use such comments to write your own ideas and I guess you wouldn’t have any problem doing that with the above quotations right?

I believe you can so please give it a whirl!

The seventh thing you have to do if you want to come up with some inspiring words is...

Consult Free Confirmation Speech or letter Samples for your niece or nephew.

You can simply save precious time and not put yourself under any undue stress and pressure if you get access to some good confirmation letter examples for your nephew or niece.

Here’s a good (yet brief one) sample to study by Sarah Reinhard

Dear Ree,

There are some who will tell you that you’re now an adult in the eyes of the Church.

There’s also an underlying expectation that you’re “done” now that you’re confirmed.

Though there’s truth in both of those, I hope you don’t fall for the misleading lies beneath them both.

You are an adult, in that you have received both of the Sacraments of Initiation, Baptism and Confirmation.

You are a full-fledged member of the Body of Christ, and what was started in your Baptism when you were a wee baby has been fulfilled by the full gifts of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation.

Your formal classes in religious education might be finished, but don’t let go of the desire to learn.

There’s no shortage of information available to you in the last 2000-plus years of our Christian faith, but even more, don’t hesitate to continue to try to learn to be close to God.

As the bishop told you at your Confirmation Mass, don’t forget your dignity. You’ll be challenged many times in your life to let this slide: don’t give in.

Being confirmed, many years ago, used to be seen as being accepted into an army. Grammy said she was called a “soldier for Christ.”

You are part of that army now, and it’s a very real war that’s going on, many times beneath the noses of people who would rather ignore the important issues in favor of what’s convenient and easy.

You will face difficult choices in the years to come. Do not ever be afraid to turn to God and, as you shake your fist at him, throw yourself into his arms.

Here’s what you have to do now!

Look over the example I have just provided again and see if there are themes or ideas that resonate with what you have in mind.

Now, change a few things here and there and make it your own as it’s in the voice of another writer.

Here’s how I would have made changes to this section of Sarah’s letter if I were in your shoes.

Sarah’s version:

Dear Ree,

There are some who will tell you that you’re now an adult in the eyes of the Church.

There’s also an underlying expectation that you’re “done” now that you’re confirmed.

My version:

Dear Ree,

It is not an easy thing to make it thus far in life. All you are and all you will be is just by the grace of God!

To some you are still a young person, but in the eyes of God, you are like a prince because you are his servant destined to carry the message of the cross by your daily words and actions…

Hope that gave you a sense of what to do.
