Wedding (Marriage) Anniversary Speech From A Friend

Ideas and Tips To Help You Write A Great Wedding Anniversary Speech For Your Friend Without Trying So Hard

A Friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed

If you have a friend who loves you so much, then you should count yourself blessed. You see, we live in a world where most people fake friendships in order to get what they want.

Once they get you in their net, they stop being loyal and caring.

But true friends are like sunrise; they never cease to show up when you need them most.
Such a friend thinks about you feel all the time and he or she involves you in everything they do.

I think you have a great friend in the person of…

If it were not so, your buddy would not have asked you to speak at his or her marriage anniversary.

What that means is that you have to say something sweet, sincere and heartfelt so your bonds of friendship can be deepened the more.

Why It’s Not So Easy

However, speaking before hundreds of people isn’t an easy thing if you feel you are not the speaking in public chap.

I have been writing wedding speeches since 2014, and I know that even very experienced speakers get the nerves too when they have to speak before an audience.

That is why, I am here this sunset to help you find the right words and phrases that will help you put down your exact thoughts and emotions into beautiful words.

You Can’t Live Without This

Before, we do that, I want you to get this thing into your head. You know, if you have a negative view of your abilities, then no one can help you speak with poise and flair. Not even me.

Probably, you are not a great speaker and that has made you think you cannot make your friend proud. You have got to get rid of that belief and see yourself in your mind’s eye speaking confidently as this mental exercise will boost your ego and self-confidence especially if you hate being in the public.

A positive state of mind separates those who speak well in public from those who don’t.

Now, let us how to get those ideas I was talking about.

Tap Into The Power of Music

Music or songs can put you in the mood for the clever expression of your thoughts. Songs about friendship, love, weddings and the like can inspire you to get great ideas.
Whenever you are listening to the lyrics, put down on paper words you think you can use for your message.

Tales Can Help As Well

Use Stories. I always wonder why many speakers don’t use lots of interesting stories when writing wedding anniversary speeches for their friends.

Rather, they let adjectives do the work instead. For example, someone might say Dave is a very kind and selfless dad and end right there.

A good speaker can go the extra mile and back those adjectives up with stories to support why he possesses those traits.

For example, you can say, Dave is a kind and selfless guy. I remember when he and Amanda went to Norway this past summer to help the homeless and less privilege

Did you see how I tried to infuse a tale after those descriptive words?

The story you use should however be connected to your message else it will bore the guests to death.

You can also use those: ‘’Once upon a time ‘’stories to say something about the couple.

For example, if you want to use the evergreen tale: Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, you can bring out that story line so it resonates with what you have in mind.
Just relate that particular story or others you wish to use to what you want to say and things will get interesting.

Use Jokes

You can also use jokes or funny one-liners to enrich your speech if you are looking forward to giving a funny wedding anniversary speech. Here a few jokes you can use.

Funny jokes about relationship - Successful man and woman

A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

Funny jokes about relationship - Compliment

Woman standing in front of the mirror complains to her husband:
- I look ugly. At least you tell me any compliment!
- Your vision is perfect!

Funny jokes about relationship - Marriage

Marriage is a workshop, where man works and woman shops.

Funny jokes about relationship - Marriage certificate

A wife to her husband:
- Honey, what are you doing?
- I'm reading our marriage certificate
- What for?
- I'm looking for the expiry date.

If the quote is coming from the lips of a celebrity or a public, don’t forget to acknowledge its source. If you want to sound smart, just paraphrase the quote, so it becomes yours.

Funny quotes are not the only weapons you can use, you can relate funny comments or jokes you both share whenever you meet to talk things over.

Remember, that quote should be used appropriately in the context of your message.

Why Not Use Past Speeches?

Let me ask you this. Were you the best man when or maid when your friend had her wedding? If you were not the one, never mind. You can still use all the insights on this page.

Go for that speech you gave back then, and just substitute a few words here and there, and you have something that will work this time too.

An easy way of getting things done quickly is by consulting wedding anniversary speech examples or samples for friends as they contain lots of rich ideas and insights you can adapt to writing yours-especially if you are not a copycat.

Watch Wedding Movies For Ideas

You might not have the time to watch good movies about marriage and all that, but if you find time to relax and watch a couple, it will help a lot. Aside calming you down, you are able to get beautiful lines to enrich your address.

If you don’t have time, you can simply watch excerpts of such movies on the various video sharing platforms. Anyway, here are a few quotes from the movies you can use. Please don’t forget to personalize them to give your words that unique feel.

''It’s like our time together is just ours. It’s our own creation. It must be like I’m in your dream and you’re in mine or something.'' --- Before Sunrise

''It was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together … and I knew it. I knew it the very first time I touched her. It was like coming home... only to no home I’d ever known... I was just taking her hand to help her out of a car and I knew. It was like... magic.''--- Sleepless in Seattle

''When I look at you, I can feel it. I look at you, and I’m home.''--- Finding Nemo

''It’s like in that moment the whole universe existed just to bring us together.''--- Serendipity

''They say when you meet the love of your life, time stops, and that’s true.'' --- Big Fish

''But our love is like the wind. I can’t see it, but I can feel it.'' --- A Walk to Remember

''I love you. You complete me.'' --- Jerry Maguire

''Death cannot stop true love. All it can do is delay it for a while.'' ---The Princess Bride

''I think I'd miss you even if we'd never met.''--- The Wedding Date

''I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.''--- The Fault in Our Stars

Okay, I want to help make things easy for you, so I want to show you how to use lines above to write a short wedding anniversary speech.

I have fallen in love with this quote and I want to use it to write something brief

''They say when you meet the love of your life, time stops, and that’s true.''---Big Fish

''They say that when you meet the friend of your life, time stops, and that’s true. Mike, has been my friend for close to 20 years and he’s been a wonderful friend.
I remember when I was down with a terminal illness, he came to my rescue.

Mike would come to visit me at the hospital, tell me nice stories to cheer me up and say a prayer for me to get well before he went back home.''

Did you notice how I used that one liner: …you meet the love of your life, time stops, and that’s true to say what was on my heart?

That’s basically how to use quotes to say what you want to say.

Sample Wedding Anniversary Speech Samples or Examples For Your Sister

Did You Remember This?

Last time, we looked at how and where to get ideas to help you write a beautiful wedding anniversary speech for your sister.
One of the tools we kept referring to was speech samples.

I remember writing that those examples were important if you really want to come up with something unique because you are able to write a beautiful speech by changing a few words here and there.

In that piece, I showed you a very short sample and how you can use it to write something great.
However, I didn’t go in details about that piece was written.

Today, I want to do you a quick favor by bringing on a board another wedding or marriage anniversary speech sample you can simply look at and make a few changes so it becomes yours.

Not only that, we will take each portion of the speech and try to get into the writers mind and see why she decided to use certain words and phrases as we march along.

So, please take your pen and paper and come along with me. Ready? Let us get started right away.
Oh sorry, I forgot one thing. I guess it is not too late to bring it up anyway.

Choose A Style That Fits Your Personality

Before you put your ideas and thoughts together into a beautiful speech, you have to first decide on the style to go for.

There are various styles to choose from anyway. You can decide to make your speech very funny. Very poetic. You can make it a simple narrative or being sentimental or even spiritual. It is also possible to combine two or more styles.

I usually see most speakers merging the funny and sentimental styles. Those who have a good voice sometimes decide to write a very short piece and just sing it.

Whatever style you go for, should something that reflect your own personality and voice.
For example, if you are a naturally funny person, then, you can decide to make your piece hilarious.

By the way, you have to decide as I cannot ask you to go for my style, which is usually a mixture of hilarity and sentimentality.

Is This The Greatest Ever?

With that in mind, let us see the start of our example

''Has it ever occurred to you that celebrating a wedding anniversary is like flicking through a photo album? It is a day for remembering old friends and shared occasions.

Tonight one of the photos in that album of memories is a wedding photo. Tonight we are celebrating that wedding of Mary and John and their years together since that special day.

So we are celebrating commitment, love and loyalty. We are celebrating the marriage of a couple who believed in being true to their wedding vows.

We are celebrating how two totally different people became a unit while still retaining their individuality. We are definitely celebrating the attraction of opposites.''

You may not agree with me, but this narrative is by far one the brilliant pieces I have ever seen anywhere.
It is one that piece that is very creative and as a speech writer myself, there are many things am learning from it even as I write.

Do you know why I said so? You see, most people would have simply used the words: '' I remember….''
But not this writer. Did you notice how he started it all?

''Has it ever occurred to you that celebrating a wedding anniversary is like flicking through a photo album? It is a day for remembering old friends and shared occasions.

Tonight one of the photos in that album of memories is a wedding photo. Tonight we are celebrating that wedding of Mary and John and their years together since that special day.''

Have you ever been to a wedding where the speaker has made this similar approach? You realize that she asks a question.

Please see it again here: ''Has it ever occurred to you that celebrating a wedding anniversary is like flicking through a photo album?''
Asking the wedding guests a question is undoubtedly one way of getting their attention and making them bond with you and I really salute her for her brilliance and courage.

Use This And They Will Love You Forever

Though a masterpiece, I wanted her to begin her speech by doing a short self-introduction and its components include telling everyone your name, your relationship to the addresses, and proceed to thank them for coming to support your sister and your brother-in-law.
Having done that, you can use the following ideas to give an attention-grabbing opener.

You can start with a joke.

You can also start with a quote on love.

You can also start with a quote about friendship or simply look up the search term: sister quotes

You can also use a personal narrative and use it to support your story line.

You can also use imaginary stories, but you have got to tie the message to your content anyway, so it makes sense.

Okay, I want to make things easier, so let me use a quote on sisters to craft a simple sister wedding anniversary speech for your sister.
By the way, the following are quotes about sisters you can use.

''I have a wonderful shelter, which is my family. I have a wonderful relationship with my brother and sister; this makes me feel that I know always where I belong.''--- Jose Carreras

''For there is no friend like a sister in calm or stormy weather; To cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands.''--- Christina Rossetti

''As I grew up, one of my strongest allies has been my sister.''--- Patti Smith

''If you have a brother or sister, tell them you love them every day - that's the most beautiful thing. I told my sister how much I loved her every day. That's the only reason I'm OK right now.'' --- Amaury Nolasco

''I always like to win. But I'm the big sister. I want to make sure she has everything, even if I don't have anything. It's hard. I love her too much. That's what counts.''--- Venus Williams

Now let us use Christina Rossetti’s quote and Patti Smith’s quote to get something short written.

''As I grew up, one of my strongest allies has been my sister.''--- Patti Smith

And

''For there is no friend like a sister in calm or stormy weather; To cheer one on the tedious way, to fetch one if one goes astray, to lift one if one totters down, to strengthen whilst one stands.''--- Christina Rossetti

A Very Short Example Just For You

''Growing up, Mary was my trusted confident and strongest ally. There has been no like her in both calm and stormy weather. She cheered me up when I lost my own husband and she’s been like my moral compass. She taught me to be selfless and love people because she believed we are all brothers and sisters from different parents. She believed that God was our parent and his rich blow flows through each one of us.
I know Mike is so blessed to have married such a wonderful person.''

Do you see how we used the lines: ''strongest ally'' and ''calm or stormy weather'' to connect what was on my mind?

Now, let us continue with our speech sample.

''Mary and John, you see, are two separate people with different ideas. They share the same values, of course, but they each have their own outlook and characteristics.

Mary, like many wives, wonders why John cannot simply ask somebody for directions when he is lost instead of driving around in circles.
John, like most husbands cannot understand why his wife takes such a long time to buy a dress.
So over the years they have learned to be tolerant of each other.

Mary has got used to taking the scenic route and John brings a good book with him when Mary goes shopping. Alternatively he bribes a female friend to go with her.''

Do You Know Your Speech Has Wings?

After you have got down to the body, you have to address your sister and brother-in-law separately as you see right here.
You can also address them both.

In case, you decide to do that, you have to tell a story and that tale should be centered on their lives.
Here, you talk about how their relationship has evolved. Probably, you can talk about how the trials and tribulations they have gone through, and how they overcame those crises.

I always advise people to do that because you have to use your speech as therapeutic or healing tool.
There are some couple who will be at the wedding anniversary and may be going through tough times like your sister and brother did,
and if you do share their story, you are going to inspire hurting couples to still hold on a little longer till they experienced miracles in their marriage.

Enough said. Let us go on to see the writer’s next lines.

'' Marriage, you see, is about tolerance. It's about a shared sense of humor.
In a hard world it needs to have a network of family and friends to support it.

Today, I know Mary and John are delighted too that you are here with them to share this special occasion. We, on the other hand, are delighted to be here to wish them well on their anniversary.
Their marriage has had its trials and tribulations of course. It has also had its golden moments.

There have been births and birthdays. There have been triumphs and disasters but over all the years John and Mary clung together and survived it all.

I have no doubt but that they have cried and wiped each others' tears. I know for a fact that they have laughed long and often and that, I think, is the secret of their happy marriage.''

Oh my God, I love this piece. It seems like we sat down to write his speech together as we are thinking alike.
These lines:

Their marriage has had its trials and tribulations of course. It has also had its golden moments.
There have been births and birthdays. There have been triumphs and disasters but over all the years John and Mary clung together and survived it all.

I have no doubt but that they have cried and wiped each others' tears
Captured what I told you about: the importance of making your speech very inspirational.

Wrap It Up With These Ideas

Finally, you begin to conclude by telling your friends and family why they are a special couple as you can see below

''Mary and John are very special people. They always have time for others. They are generous to a fault and they have an open door policy when it comes to family and friends.

In fact they are wonderful parents, marvelous family members and the best friends anyone could have.
So tonight we are gathered to thank them for what they have meant to us over the years. Tonight we want to wish them many more years of happiness together. ''

Don’t forget to wish them well in the coming years and tell them how you desire that their marriage will be an excellent model.
You can use the medium of prayer, reciting a poem or chanting a psalm or simply expressing your wishes by writing a poem and using it as your toast as you see here

'' In fact ladies and gentlemen (or family and friends) I think you will all agree that a toast is in order. So please raise your glasses in a toast to a couple whose marriage was definitely the prototype for marriages made in Heaven. Mary and John!

We've gathered today to tell you
Just how much you mean to us
That's why we've sent you those greetings
And that's why we are making a fuss
It's great to see two people

As happy as you two are
In a sad world we're lucky that

Your marriage is our guiding star.
So now I say to you well done

You've shown wedlock can be fun
Demonstrated what a marriage should be
And I know the guests agree with me

That as a couple you deserve more than most ‘’
Our best wishes and a happy anniversary toast.

That, in essence, is how to make use of wedding anniversary speech samples to writing an awesome speech for your sister.
And I think you can write one without trying so hard right?

Wedding Anniversary Speech For Parents(Mom And Dad)

Ideas And Tips To Help You Write A Unique And Memorable Wedding Anniversary Speech For Your Parents

Do You Really Love Them?

Let me ask you this simple question. What do these quotes have in common?

''We never know the love of a parent till we become parents ourselves''---Henry Ward Beecher

And

'' One of the greatest titles in the world is parent, and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to have parents to call mom and dad'' ---Jim Demint

The quotes above certainly have the theme of love running through them. That is my answer. Though you might have several other answers for me.
I don’t know if you are a parent, but if you are, then you can understand the pain our parents have gone through to give us the future we so much enjoy.

And I think being a parent is one of the deepest calling of every race in every generation. Talk about the unconditional love, selfless sacrifice and devotion.

And so, on the occasion of your parents wedding anniversary, it is mandatory that you pour your heart and mind soul into saying something that will make them proud that you are their child.

Granted, not every person can do justice to such an endeavor. I love you. I love your family. Especially your parents and I want to help you make your parents very proud.

That is why, I am right here this sweating it out here so you can find the right words to say as they celebrate their milestone.
Before we delve into the heart of the matter, I want you to keep this in your mind all the time.
Having a positive mental attitude is the main driver of success you will have in life.

Which is why you need to be very careful about how you see your own abilities. You see, whenever you are set to perform a newer task, there will always be a release of events that happened in the past.

Perhaps you felt the pangs of pain and nervousness when you are asked to address an audience years ago, and you are thinking you are going to embarrass yourself this time too.

But, your story can be totally different if you constantly expect the best this time around and also hold in your mind’s eye a positive image of speaking confidently before an audience. And as you keep at it repeatedly, your confidence will grow and you will do so well.

Do This And You Will Be In Charge

Having said that, you need to choose a style you want to go for. You can choose from being poetic, being funny, being sentimental, rendering your message in the form of a song or a combination or two or more styles?

Choosing your style should go hand in hand with the the kind of wedding anniversary your parents are celebrating: 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 50th,…as that will help you decide on the right words to use.

Having said that, let us now see where to get ideas from to help us pay glowing tribute to our parents. I hope you don’t mind my use of ‘’ our’’. Remember, every parent is an asset to every child.

Use Wonderful Tales To Get This Done

The best thing that will make your speech stand out is stories. You are free to go for both true and false stories. But, if you go for something fictional, make sure you connect its theme to your message, else it will back fire. Don’t take that route if you are not too comfortable with that. You can simply share real anecdotes.

You have lived with your parents all these years, and I bet you can recall so many wonderful stories about them.
So, take a paper and pen and recall all those exciting times you have had as family and see which ones you really want to use.
By the way, what you decide to use should be very interesting. We all love interesting tales. Hope you do?

Here Are Other Ways To Go About It

Other simple ways to go about it is to say why you are so thankful that you have them for parents or you simply share what lessons you have learned from them that has helped you become a better mom or dad yourself.

Your mom and dad have made countless sacrifices to stay in marriage and they will appreciate it if you say how their marriage has been an excellent model. It also shows that you are also a wise child.

If you are tongue-tied and don’t really know what to say, you can put yourself in the mood for the clear expression of your ideas by listening to love songs. As you do that, please put down phrases and some lyrics you want to use for your speech.

Go For Beautiful Quotes

Aside that, you can go for quotes.
Did you see how I began this piece with a question and its accompanying quotes?

Go online and do search for quotes on parental love, and try getting some words you can use for your wedding anniversary speech for your mom and dad. Here are a few quotes you can use

'' Parental love is the only love that is truly selfless, unconditional and forgiving. ''---Dr T.P.Chia

'' We never know the love of a parent till we become parents ourselves.'' ---Henry Ward Beecher

'' Parents were the only ones obligated to love you; from the rest of the world you had to earn it.''  Ann Brashares

''When you look into your mother's eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.'' ---Mitch Albom

'' What it's like to be a parent: It's one of the hardest things you'll ever do but in exchange it teaches you the meaning of unconditional love. '' Nicholas Sparks

'' The most loving parents and relatives commit murder with smiles on their faces. They force us to destroy the person we really are: a subtle kind of murder.''---  Jim Morrison

'' The depth of the love of parents for their children cannot be measured. It is like no other relationship. It exceeds concern for life itself. The love of a parent for a child is continuous and transcends heartbreak and disappointment.''---James E. Faust

''By loving them for more than their abilities we show our children that they are much more than the sum of their accomplishments.'' ---Eileen Kennedy-Moore

''No matter how far we come, our parents are always in us.''---Brad Meltzer

'' A parent's love is whole no matter how many times divided.'' ---Robert Brault

''A father's goodness is higher than the mountain, a mother's goodness deeper than the sea.'' ---Japanese Proverb

Let us now see how we can use at least two of those references to get something written.

Let us use these quotes

''The depth of the love of parents for their children cannot be measured. It is like no other relationship. It exceeds concern for life itself. The love of a parent for a child is continuous and transcends heartbreak and disappointment.''---James E. Faust

And

''No matter how far we come, our parents are always in us.'' --- Brad Meltzer

Here we go now…

Dave and Amanda, there is nothing that can compare to the love that I have for both of you. My love for you runs so deep not only because you have been loving parents, bout you really care about others. I owe how far I have come to you.

I guess you can see how we used the borrowed words: ''how far we come'' and  ''The depth of the love of parents for their children'' as seen in those quotes. That is essentially the stuff most speeches are made up of.

Why You Have To Watch Videos

Another place, you might want to go for some moving words is by searching on the numerous video sharing platforms search terms like wedding anniversary speech for mom and dad or parents, as well as terms which are not related to what you are looking for and you will get so many ideas, lines and words to use.

You can also go for rich ideas by quoting romantic quotes from movies. Don’t worry because I am going to give you a few of them, and even show how to use them to create nice memories.

Many people don’t do this, but if you do, your speech will definitely become very memorable. Go to your parents and ask for their wedding video. Watch it over and over again, and use some of their words for your message.

For example, if after seeing that old recording on tape, you discover that your parents said in their speeches or vows that they were going to live till the end of times, you can use that message as a starter.

Okay, suppose, your parents said that right?

Then, a good way to start your speech might be this after you show an excerpt to them

How A Video Helped Us To Write A Short Speech

''Ladies and Gentlemen, in the video Mike and Amanda told us that they were going to remain best friends till the end of time.
The first time I saw it. I cried.

I have been married for 10 years now and I can see what my mom and dad said wasn’t in a jest.

It shows that even before I was born, they were thinking about me and my other siblings more than they were thinking about themselves because they knew for sure that we were going to come into the scene and they had to do everything in their power to make things work so they could pass on a legacy of hope, perseverance,  and love to us…

Wow, what an accomplishment!''

Did you see how I did that? That’s the stuff that characterizes all great wedding anniversary speeches.

One final place to see is to consult wedding anniversary speech samples. We reviewed one the other day as we examined how we can get something out of it, so I think it is must-read piece if you decide to borrow from what others have written.

Wedding Anniversary Speech Sample

Just See This Sample or Wedding Anniversary Speech Sample, And You’ll Be Seconds Away From Writing a Heartfelt and Memorable Speech

This Is The Best Source Of Ideas

Last time, we looked at how and where to get ideas for your wedding anniversary speech. Today, we are going to look at one key thing that will really help you to put down whatever is on your mind.

And I’d like to introduce you to speech samples.

Here and elsewhere, I keep on trumpeting on why such wedding anniversary speech samples or examples are so essential. Here is a reminder if perhaps you have forgotten about it all.
You see, such samples, particularly, if well written contain so many ideas and examples you can use to crafting your unique presentation.

Which is why this very afternoon, I’d like to draw your attention to this beautiful 60th wedding anniversary speech by Jeff Sauer.

Why It Doesn’t Matter

Please note that though this might be for 60th milestone, you can always tweak it to suit your own needs.
It has some useful lessons and tips for you whether you are celebrating your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th, 25th,30th, 35th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70th, 75th wedding anniversary, and so on
So, you better pay attention to it.

Let us begin by first breaking down Jeff’s speech into constituents, and interpreting it on our own way and looking at what went on behind the scenes.

A Moving Speech

Here is what Jeff said when he opened the speech.

'' Hello, my name is Jeff Sauer, Grandson of Norb and Lenore, and welcome to our celebration of 60 years of marriage between Lenore and Norby, or as we affectionately call them; Lenorby.

I will be your master of ceremonies for this event, and I hope that you’ll soon find that you are in good hands. Grandpa chose me to host this event because he says I remind him of a young Bob Hope.

I have no idea what that means, but I am taking it as a compliment.
Enough about me. The real reason why we are here is to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert T Koch.''

Anything to pick from the excerpt? Well, let me give you a couple of them.

Always Start With This

The writer began by saluting the wedding guests and saying who he was to the couple, and welcoming them to the marriage anniversary of his grand mom and granddad.

That was very thoughtful. Anytime, you are asked to give such a speech, you certainly have to take the route too.
If the couple is your parents, or if he or she is your husband or wife, you have to tell everyone.

On no account should you assume that all the wedding guests know who they are.
Your friends might come along with other friends and it is rightly fitting for you to do just that.
Enough said about that. Let us move ahead by reading the subsequent lines.

''60 years! 6 – 0. That’s not a typo. 60 years! That is a long time for two people to be together. In fact, this type of longevity is almost unheard of in modern times. This is a testament to their long lasting love and devotion.
To see how they made it this far, let me give you some insight into how things came to be.

Norbert Thomas Koch and Mary Lenore Leroux had modest upbringings. Norb grew up in North Minneapolis, back in a time where it was safe to drive through the neighborhood with your windows down. Lenore grew up in the town of Hamel, on a farm that is now a high school and a housing development.

Due to some unfortunate turns in life, Norb was tasked with helping to prove for his family from an early age. In order to make ends meet, he had to make money in whatever way he could, including selling newspapers and shoveling sidewalks.

One can only assume that working at such an early age instilled him with a great work ethic, and the drive necessary to achieve his own financial independence.

Lenore was a farm girl, and still has the green thumb to prove it. Over the years I have heard many great stories about Grandma’s days on the farm, but I think my favorite is the story about when she took the truck for a spin with her sister Jeanette when grandma wasn’t yet a teenager.''

If you go back to read this portion, you’ll discover that he indicates the number of years Norbert and Lenore have been together.
And then goes on to talk about Norbert and Lenore in that order.

Make Sure This Follows Chronologically

This is the start of the body, and Jeff was right to do that seeing he decided to go give a rundown of how his grand mom and granddad lived back in the days.

If you ask me, if you can do that too. I will say nod in agreement. But that’s not the only way to put your thoughts together so they flow in a coherent and logical manner.

There are so many ways to organize the flow of the body of your wedding anniversary speech and here are quite a few ways.

How To Organize The Body Of Your Speech

Once again, the above approach is perfect.

Second, you can begin with a quote about parental love or the love of grandparents or quotes about love and work it out from there.

Let us as an example say we are writing a speech for our wife right?
So, we search quotes up and we discover the following

1. ''One of the greatest titles in the world is parent, and one of the biggest blessings in the world is to have parents to call mom and dad.'' --- Jim DeMint

2. '' Parents are the ultimate role models for children. Every word, movement and action has an effect. No other person or outside force has a greater influence on a child than the parent. '' --- Bob Keeshan

3. '' To be a good father and mother requires that the parents defer many of their own needs and desires in favor of the needs of their children. As a consequence of this sacrifice, conscientious parents develop a nobility of character and learn to put into practice the selfless truths taught by the Savior Himself. ''--- James E. Faust

4. '' At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents.''---Jane D. Hull

5. ''The best students come from homes where education is revered: where there are books, and children see their parents reading them.''--- Leo Buscaglia

6.  ''Being kind is the most important thing I've ever been taught. That's what my parents always told me - more important than ambition or success is being kind to people. The cornerstone of my life. What I aspire to is to be kind.'' ---Rafe Spall

Now, let us go for quote # 3 and quote # 6 and write a short wedding speech based on who our addressee is. Let us assume that this is a speech meant for our parents.

So I am going to use the following.

''To be a good father and mother requires that the parents defer many of their own needs and desires in favor of the needs of their children. As a consequence of this sacrifice, conscientious parents develop a nobility of character and learn to put into practice the selfless truths taught by the Savior Himself.'' --- James E. Faust

And

'' Being kind is the most important thing I've ever been taught. That's what my parents always told me - more important than ambition or success is being kind to people. The cornerstone of my life. What I aspire to is to be kind.'' ---Rafe Spall

Now, here is my version (your version) of what happens when we combine both quotes.

Here Is A Very Short Example

'' Dad and mom, when I became a mom for the very first time, you drove over to visit and as we conserved, you told me that being a caring mom requires that I defer my own needs and desires in favor of my new born child.

I heeded your wise counsel without hesitation and I am proud to let you know that I now have two kids who told me just this morning that they too are going to put the needs of their own children first when they give birth because they have seen that it pays to do so.

I love you mom. I love you dad and I truly appreciate all that you have done for me over the years.''

I hope you too can write something with the other quotations. You just have to paraphrase them to make them yours.

Third, you can simply thank your grandparents for what they have done for you and just end it. That way, it will be short and heartfelt.

Fourth, you can use stories (fiction) to write up something memorable. Take the Titanic story for example. Jack and Ross unflinching love comes into full circle as the great boat sinks.

And if you want to use that, you have to draw lessons from that movie and tell everyone why the couple’s love is in many ways like the Titanic lovers. Simply put, your message should be somewhat related to that movie.
If you are married, then, you can tell how your grandparents’ marriage has been a great model.

If you are addressing a wife or husband, you can pinpoint reasons why you love each other and how you were able to resolve your own personal challenges and crisis.

You can also begin on a hilarious note by including jokes or funny comments made by the couple. But, still make sure it is in line with what you want the audience to hear. Never go offbeat.

Now, let us go back to listen to our brother, Jeff.

'' When the time came, Norb served our country and defended the free world in the Second World War. He was stationed in the Pacific and had one of the most dangerous positions in the entire Air Force. Fortunately, he survived without a scratch and made it back stateside a true hero, armed with an arsenal of ambition and some great bedtime stories for his grandchildren.

Upon arrival back to the states, Grandpa enrolled in college at the University of Minnesota, where he played baseball while completing his college degree.

It was through baseball that Norb fatefully met Lenore, and it was through persistence that Grandma finally let him take her out on a date. After some time of courtship, they were married.

Grandpa sold life insurance and made quite a living for himself. I would go into details of individual deals and the perseverance involved with making it in the life insurance business, but I don’t want to put everyone to sleep.

While I have been blessed with the ability to find humor in everyday things, it’s almost impossible to keep a crowd excited when talking about Life Insurance. I’m not a miracle worker here!

However, I do know first hand that Grandpa must have been really good at his profession, because he has a wealth of trophies corresponding to his various achievements.

• Salesman of the year – (13 times).
• President of the Minneapolis Association of Life Underwriters.
• The George Washington Founding Father of Modern Life Insurance Sales Lifetime Achievement Award. (OK, I made that one up)

You name it, and he’s got a trophy for it. During his day, Norb was like the Arnold Palmer of insurance sales (or for the younger crowd, he was the Tiger Woods of his field).

Insurance aside, when you look at his trophy case, you’ll also notice that he was once the Tiger Woods of Minnesota Golf. This guy has more trophies than I can count. There is so much bronze on his shelves that the only thing missing is a bronze statue of Norby himself!

Proving that they are meant to be together, Grandma has amassed herself quite a few trophies as well.

In fact, rumor has it that she can beat Grandpa on the links nowadays. Both can shoot their age on the golf course, which I find quite impressive. I would need to be in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s oldest man before I could ever accomplish that feat!''

Did you see how the writer talks about their individual achievements as part of the body of his speech.

Can you look at the short sample and find the one thing that will make the wedding guests laugh out loud?

Why Insert A Few Funny Lines?

I guess you understand that the underlined words: '' There is so much bronze on his shelves that the only thing missing is a bronze statue of Norby himself! '' will make everyone roar in laughter.
And being funny will surely endear you the wedding guests.

I even smiled when I read that. But Jeff tells us that their greatest trophies are their children and grandchildren. You better hear it from the horses own mouth:

''But their real trophies are their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; all two hundred of us. Well, maybe not 200, but there are quite a few descendants in the room today. That’s what happens when you have 8 children! ‘’

Jeff skillfully uses a lot of stories to build his case.

That’s why I constantly admonish my readers to always write down everything they can remember.

Though, you might not use even half of those ideas, but it really helps because you are able to choose which ones are really exciting when you eventually sit down to put your thoughts together into a very meaningful piece.
Stories have so much power and influence, so never underrate them whenever you want to say something sweet.

End It In This Manner

Finally, when you are about to conclude your speech, you still have to wish them well in the years ahead.

A perfect closing remark can be found right below. Once again, they are from the mind of Jeff

''As you can see, it is obvious that Grandma and Grandpa love every one of their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Over the past 60 years they have instilled this love into everyone around them and they have served as a catalyst for all of our life’s achievements.

Like any long-term relationship, it takes work to keep things running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. I’m not going to lie and say that everything has been good every step along the way, but the good far outweighs the bad, and overall the past 60 years have been great!

I love my grandparents with all my heart, and they have instilled so many good qualities in me that I am a better person as a result.

My fathers’ parents passed away before I was born, so I have only known two grandparents in my life. While nothing can take the place of two sets of grandparents, I feel you did everything you could to make up that gap for me.

Thank you for everything you have done. I love you so much. Happy 60th anniversary.
Love, your little Jeffy.''

I hope by now, you have a fair idea of how to use wedding anniversary speech samples to write your own speech. Please feel free to borrow ideas from the above samples as that will help you a lot in the long run.

Remember, you can always make it yours by changing words here and there to give your own speech that personal touch.

Wedding Anniversary Speech For Husband

Ideas and Tips and Examples To Help You Give A Beautiful Wedding Anniversary Speech For Your Loving Husband

Why You Deserve This

Most men do have this sense of possessiveness. They feel that not being in control of their own lives and their loved ones mean they are out of control.

They only pay attention to what you have to say when they have totally lost control. Even with that, they might not be quick to accept that they are wrong and you are right and just move on.

I know how it feels like to get married to an over-possessive guy, and that makes me feel as though most men are complicated. But, I guess your sweetheart might be cool like cucumber.

By the way, on the occasion of your marriage anniversary, I think you deserve a pat on the back for being there for him all these years. I know it hasn’t been always smooth. Congrats!

Granted, your wedding anniversary is fast approaching and you need to tell your family, friends and the guests how much you really love your man.

I guess yours is as handsome and kind as a prince!

By the way, finding the right words and ideas to express your thoughts in a heartfelt manner can be quite stressful and overwhelming.

What is more, you might get a few words here and there, and you might even worry if those words can make a favorable impression on people who have come to witness your anniversary celebrations.

It is for this reason that I am here this cold afternoon to help you pay glowing tribute to your loving husband, the way you want it.

I don’t know if you are celebrating your 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th,…………10th, 13th, 15th, 20th, 25th, 30th, 35th, 40th, 45th, 50th, 60th, 70th, or whatever, you can still adapt the ideas I am going to share to making your own speech very special and unique.

So, never ever forget that. Okay. Now, let us get started!

Add Tales To The Mix

Do you love tales? I know a great lady or woman like you do love them. To give your presentation with poise and confidence, you need to tell lots of stories when you are giving your speech.

Put down stories about how you met him, stories about your dating and courtship to when you got married.

Or you can tell your listeners how life has been like ever since you both tied the knot.

Remember that you don’t need to tell lots of stories else it will be very long and winding and your narrative will be hard to follow.

Just stick to a few details and do make sure they follow one another in a coherent and logical manner.

You might want to include a few funny anecdotes as that will make your whole message interesting and very memorable.

You see, any speech that doesn’t use stories is often boring.

Use Jokes And Humor

Central to the above idea might be the need to sprinkle your speech with a few jokes here and there.

Jokes about men and the like when properly added to your speech can make your presentation interesting.

Watch Movies

If you are a movie buff or you like watching romantic movies, then you can get great ideas to help you say what is on your heart.

Well, you might not have enough time to sit through a 2-hour movie.

But, you can still watch a few movies when you want to relax and cool off after a hard day’s work. Better still you can watch a few clips that last for a shorter time, say 5-10 minutes.

The purpose of you watching these wedding or romantic movies might be that you want to get sentences and phrases to help you put your ideas together.

Below are a few romantic lines from movies

"I cannot tell you how thankful I am for our little infinity. I wouldn't trade it for the world. You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I'm grateful."---- The Fault In Our Stars (2014)

" The you who you are tonight is the same you I was in love with yesterday, the you I’ll be in love with tomorrow.''--- If I Stay (2014)

"I have crossed oceans of time to find you."--- Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992)

“I love you very much, probably more than anybody could love another person.”--- 50 First Dates (2004)

"I don’t know if we each have a destiny, or if we’re all just floating around accidental — like on a breeze, but I think maybe it’s both... If there’s anything you need, I won’t be far away.''--- Forrest Gump (1994)

" I vow to fiercely love you in all your forms, now and forever. I promise to never forget that this is a once in a lifetime love. And to always know in the deepest part of my soul that no matter what challenges might carry us apart, we will always find our way back to each other." --- The Vow (2012)

You might want to paraphrase if you intend using any of them.

Also, you can watch wedding anniversary speech videos on any of the video sharing platforms or look them up in the search engines and they will certainly be of great help.

Do watch lots of them and don’t confine yourself to just wedding anniversary speech videos for husband.

You can see those for wife too. You can see those for parents and grandparents as all these search terms will open up the limitless possibilities of you getting tons of rich ideas and thoughts. Get a pen and paper in your hand because you might have this sudden brainwave as you watch video after video.

Wedding Anniversary Speech Samples

Speech examples for a husband can be another powerful motivator for writing your own speech.

But know that you can’t borrow the sample word for word as that will not make your speech very original.

Go Find What You Threw Away

Sometimes, you need not look far to get something down on paper. Let me ask you: Do you still have your bride speech or do you still remember portions of it?

Did you know you can use parts of that account to craft your own speech?

Here’s someone’s bride speech. Let us take a look at excerpts of it and how we can get something from it for our own message.

'' After pursuing my P.H.D I found a good job and had everything I ever need to give me that personal comfort and satisfaction.
As the years rolled by with no one to hold on in hard times, I felt this void in my heart and I lived like a nun.
And so, when Mike came into my life, I experienced a deep sense of joy that flowed through my heart and veins like a never flowing stream.

Well, Mike has been a friend for almost 5 years now but I must admit that I just wanted to know if he was the right guy for me. And I was the right lady for him.

I am someone who believes in the sanctity of marriage and I just didn’t want anything or anyone to toy with my heart.
After he had left college, he told me he loved but I turned this great guy down. Wanting to impress me, he sent me a flower on Valentine’s Day but I was still not convinced that he could feel the void in my life.

Besides, I wanted to test the strength of his heart and character.
But my Mike would never give up. On my last birthday, he arrived looking cute.
I guess he wanted to impress me.

To cut a long story short, we wined and dined and he came over when everyone had left and we talked for like 2 hours.
At a point, he was drenched in sweat and his voice grew rather hoarse as he held my hands.
He got down on one knee and told me that he still wanted to be my best friend.
Suddenly I felt a bit faint-smiled and accepted his proposal.

After, he breathed a big sigh of relief and the mood as if he had won a marathon in record time in an empty stadium.

Today, the story is different. He’s relaxed but I am drenched in sweat as I give my speech.
Kidding aside, I feel like a princess on this beautiful day.

Mike thanks for agreeing to marry me. Your proposal took my breadth and my brains away. Far away…''

It’s an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to and accept you for what you are. I’ve been waiting, for what seems like a very long time, to get beyond what I am.

With Bella I feel like I have my joy back. My peace of mind back. My hope back.
I always thought that there was this one perfect person for everybody in the world, you know, and when I found you, all my fears and worries faded away.

Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Now, we are best friends eternally and we will have to cross so many rivers and climb hills to get to where we want to be. But, I know we will get there.''

Now, our own version of the above.

''Mike tried to impress me the very first time we met on campus back at University.
Later we got married, and I thought he might stop doing that. But, he kept impressing me each day.

What a wonderful friend he has been all these years.

It’s an extraordinary thing to meet someone who you can bare your soul to and accept you for what you are. And I think Mike is that guy my soul had been carving for since I made a decision to settle down.

Mike, every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure.
Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am home again

Whenever I'm alone with you
You make me feel like I am whole again

Now, we are best friends eternally and we still have to cross so many rivers and climb hills to get to where we want to be. But, I know we will get there sooner than later. I love you Mike!’’

Did you see how we borrowed a few words from that original speech and simply made it one meant for an anniversary milestone?

Can you do same? I hope you can.

Now, what I want you to do now is to look over this article over and over again.

As you do that, put down ideas that spring in your mind and use them to craft your own wedding anniversary speech for your husband.
