Do you have a note pad and a paper handy? Here are things you have to consider before you jot down what’s inside your head.
These 3 Must-Do Things Hold The Key To Your Success
You see, there are four components that make a great piece and they are:
- How to get the right words and ideas to write your own speech
- How to use those ideas to put down what’s on your mind and make it sound good
- As well as practicing and
- delivering it
Today, we are going to look at nugget number 1: How to get the right words and ideas to write your own speech
This Causes Nervous And Here’s How To Calm Your Nerves.
Before I show you what those ideas are, let me remind you about this one thing that prevents many wedding speakers from accomplishing their dreams of giving great marriage anniversary speeches that will earn them favorable attention and praise.
You see, the mind plays a key role in whatever you want to achieve in life.
Sadly, however, may people let fear reside in their mind instead of holding on to the dream they carry in their hearts.
You might be probably wondering how you are going to execute this beautifully since you might have failed to impress the last time you were asked to say some few words when it was your birthday celebrations.
Well, I understand what you went through and I guess it was not too easy for you.Believe it or not, those same emotions of fear will show up this time too.
It will because you couldn’t conquer it the first it came to ‘’wine and dine’’ with you. The good news is that you can do something about it this time.
By constantly holding in your mind’s eye, this picture of speaking confidently with flair and poise, you are going to have this remarkable feeling of energy flowing through your spirit and soul, and it would eventually build up your self-esteem and confidence.
You can write the most awesome wedding anniversary speech ever, but if you lack the guts to speak before an audience, you are going to fail woefully.
Being asked to write similar speeches for many people across the globe demands that I give each one of my clients value for money, and in doing so, I do all I can to make sure each piece is unique despite the fact that the contents are similar in tone and substance.
There are so many ways I use to accomplish my purpose and you too can just look over my shoulders by copying how I go about things.
Now, Here’s What I Do Before I Put Pen To Paper…And Why You Should Do Same
First, consider who your wedding anniversary speech is intended for.
Is it for…
- a friend?
-a brother or sister?
- your mom and dad (parents?)
- your uncle or aunt?
- a neighbor?
- your grandparents?
Next, you have to decide what angle you want to go for.
By that I mean the theme or style of your speech.
- Do you want to talk about how the couple’s relationship has evolved over the years or you simply want to tell them how much your wife or husband or brother or sister or parents?Do you want to share the struggles both of you have endured to reach thus far
2. You can also simply express gratitude as part of your tribute or tell a story (whether real or imagined) and tie it to your own wedding anniversary speech.
Next, you have to put down what speech style you want to go for.
There are so many styles to pick from.
Let me ask you this. Do you want to give a…
A narrative or story telling episode?
Poetic wedding anniversary speech or message?
Song-like speech? (That’s what makes most speeches memorable)
Combination of these styles?
Whatever style you go for should match your personality and demeanor!
Here Are The Best Places To Easily Look For Great Ideas, Heartfelt And Beautiful Words!
Have any idea what they are?
Not really? You don’t have to worry because I have got your back!
Well, the best place to look at for ideas is your own mind.
I am simply talking about beautiful memories.
What comes to mind when you think about the couple’s love life or your own love life?
Write as many of them that comes to you as you reflect on how life has been for them.
Please share the good times and bad as that’s what will touch the hearts of the wedding guests and also make your delivery very memorable.
Your assignment: With a paper and pen in hand, sit still and put down what runs through your mind as you ponder about how life has been like for both of you or the couple. Put down highlights and then later support your points with some details.
Do You Enjoy Watching Movies…?
Then, you can get neat ideas from romantic films. I know it will be time wasting to sit through even an hour long movie to get the right words.
So, my suggestion is this…
Go right now to any of the video sharing platforms or websites and input in the search box: wedding anniversary speech for a friend or brother or sister or parents or uncles or aunt and watch as many as you can.
As you do that, put down ideas, words and phrases that really touched your heart or even made you laugh and consider if it will be very convenient or useful to use them.
Even if you don’t find them relevant, they can inspire you to come up with your own unique ideas.
How God Can Help You Write A Short and Sweet Speech
Go to the songs of Solomon in the bible and you will find plenty of love notes to help you out.
There are some verses from other part of God’s word as well.
Here are a few…
- He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD." ~ Proverbs 18:22
- "I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine." ~Song of Solomon 8:3
"A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life." ~ Proverbs 31:10-12
'' Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned." ~ Song of Solomon 8:6
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails." ~ I Corinthians 13:4-8
Any of these scriptures can form the intro of our speech.
I think you’ll agree with me when I say that songs and poems can also do you a lot of good.
Take for example this song by Natalie Collie’s This Will Be An Everlasting Love.
Here are excerpts of the lyrics
Is some kind of wonderful
Because you've shown me
Just how much you care
You've given me the thrill of a lifetime
And made me believe you've got more thrills to spare, oh
This will be
And everlasting love, oh, yes, it will now
You've brought a lot of sunshine into my life
You've filled me with happiness I never knew
You gave me more joy than I ever dreamed of
And no one, no one can take the place of you…
Can You Write Something Short And Heartfelt Like This Using Your Favorite Love Song?
This is how I would do it if I were writing using the lyrics of that song.
Eric and Millie’s love seems to be an everlasting love
You know what? There have been high and low moments in their lives and as you can imagine there are days they felt their journey was not worth it
But, they always confided in me that what kept them going in good times was this scripture they heard some 28 years ago when they got married and it is from I Corinthians 13:13 which says that now these three remain: faith, hope and love but the greatest is love.
Their lives have shown that love is truly the greatest gift they have passed on to their children and other relatives.
For me, they have shown me how much they care and that makes me believe that life is all about loving someone and being loved in return
That sense of purpose helped bring sunshine into my life and my own marriage when…
I am sure you noticed how we used Natalie Cole’s words to write our own short marriage anniversary speech.
Can you do that too? I bet you can because I have given you everything you need to succeed. You just have to believe you can!
Marriage or love quotes can help too.
Do You Access To These Golden Keys?
The easiest and best way to make your words heartfelt is to consult wedding anniversary speech samples.
They are by far the best investment you can make when it comes to writing and giving an awesome speech.
Yet, a lot of folks out of sheer ignorance don’t use them as they should and that makes them waste precious time thinking of what to say.
It’s for this reason I want you to see this brilliant sample because it has great ideas you can borrow from and adapt to making your own speech very unique.
Jeff gave this at his grandparent’s diamond wedding anniversary.
Though this is geared towards a 60th anniversary celebration, you can always modify based on the facts you have gathered and what speech type you want to give.
This model is quite long so this will just be an excerpt…
''Hello, my name is Jeff Sauer, Grandson of Norb and Lenore, and welcome to our celebration of 60 years of marriage between Lenore and Norby, or as we affectionately call them; Lenorby…Enough about me. The real reason why we are here is to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Norbert T Koch.
60 years! 6 – 0. That’s not a typo. 60 years! That is a long time for two people to be together. In fact, this type of longevity is almost unheard of in modern times. This is a testament to their long lasting love and devotion…Norbert Thomas Koch and Mary Lenore Leroux had modest upbringings.
Norb grew up in North Minneapolis, back in a time where it was safe to drive through the neighborhood with your windows down. Lenore grew up in the town of Hamel, on a farm that is now a high school and a housing development.
Due to some unfortunate turns in life, Norb was tasked with helping to prove for his family from an early age. In order to make ends meet, he had to make money in whatever way he could, including selling newspapers and shoveling sidewalks….
One can only assume that working at such an early age instilled him with a great work ethic, and the drive necessary to achieve his own financial independence.
Now, let us see how to carve something brief from what that smart guy wrote.
Here we go
Welcome everyone. Thanks for coming.
I am Dan, son of Jennifer and Austin and you are welcome to the 25th wedding anniversary of my parents. (Do you see how different this intro is from the original version?)
That’s not all...please let’s get on with what we have to say…
Jennifer and Austin thought they would never get this far. My parents tell me how tough things were a few years after they got married.
You see, dad had a high-paying job and my mom agreed to be a stay-at-home mom because her work was demanding.
Things were pretty good the following years after my parents had made that decision.
One day, dad returned home from work looking glum...glum like a…..(comment for Dan, please fill here up)
The reason being that he had been laid off from work..
The years that followed were very tough.
We were thrown out of our apartment and we had barely enough to live on...
Do you realize how i am weaving my own story in place of that example?
That's exactly how to use wedding anniversary speech samples to get something beautiful down on the white page.
Go over this piece before you start writing or if you are still not too sure if you can make yours great, then you have got to see this right away.
